Hacking Convert PS3 to Pc?

Hey guys, my pc is broken and I was wondering if there is a way to install windows on the ps3 and play some pc games (minecraft, cs go, age of empires, etc..) on it. This should help for me. I can't buy an Pc now. I get my money in 5 months and hope, I can play some how pc games on the ps3. Ubuntu runs with otherOS on the Ps3 but we can't do anything with it (or has something changed?)

The short of it is no. Windows doesn not run on the ps3 and never will. You might be able to get it too with some tweaking but it sure isn't going to run well enough for you to game on.

Buy a new PC then.

If your PS3 is hacked, you could load Win 98 through DOSBox.
Don't expect massive performances...

Or install Petitboot/AsbestOS whatever it's called and install Linux.
Again, don't expect everything.

That usually means people are letting them go for a lot less if you can handle a refurb (read reinstall windows and dust it) yourself. Such things alone will probably get you some games going on but whack in a 30 Euro graphics card (5450 AMD/ATI is a popular choice, second hand shops might do even better) and you will get quite a lot going on -- it is only in the last year or so we have seen people break from needing directx9 and a mid range dual core.

Granted we are now looking at just over 200 Euros when all is said and done, money I would be quite upset to lose but also money I could probably put together.

Thx for all of you. My gpu and a part of the mobo (pci port for gpu cards) died of short circuit. I'll begin to work in 5 months and will buy an new pc. My Ps3 is hacked btw so I try out with that asbestOS or win98.

you wont get good preformance using your ps3 as a pc to play pc games. not enough ram to handle most basic games that arent for the ps3.

You could install Linux, then Wine. But don't expect games to run well.
