So I got the PC version, installed it under WINE (yeah, I'm way to lazy to restart into Windows), had a look at its files... And guess what? I managed to extract some text from it! Here is the officially translated common_text.tr2 content (the one I posted in my previous message), guess this makes a nice 400º post "
As you can see, the content isn't 100% equivalent to the original PSP version, but it should be possible to compare the original PSP file with the Japanese text from the PC version (which I also found) and from there, insert the corresponding English text on a PSP-compatible file.
I did this once, to automatically translate the PSP version of FFI into Spanish, using texts from the multi-language GBA version. In fact, I had to use the levenshtein distance algorithm as both English versions weren't exactly the same (the script was slightly revised for the PSP release). Cool, isn't it? xD
Anyway, I'm gonna call it a day. It's been pretty fun messing around with this game but it's already way too late for me
