Anyway a fairly high special effects budget by the looks of things there, unless that was all from the pilot (which would mean I say the same thing).

i wonder why its always these obscure comics. i mean, blade, arrow (before the show aired, i think people wanted this as badly as an aquaman show), walking dead (half the audience still doesnt know the series is mostly following a comic book) and now hellblazer?

doesnt help that, as far as mystic heroes go, I'd rather see like, dr strange or something

I dare say it is cheaper to buy the rights to such comics (to say nothing of there maybe being fewer issues with various supporting characters and setups) and you can afford to change more (or even just use the name, a few world and character details and go from there).
