Actually, I don't think you'd be able to fit the code onto 128mb, even with FMV removed. Unless they turned it FF3 ish, but what would be the point in that?

The data for the entirety of FFVII was on every disc; the only serious difference was which FMVs it contained. Don't believe me? Go near the end of the game, and swap your disc 3 out with your disc 1, and be AMAZED that the backgrounds, text, music, and -everything- still loads, and that it only acts up when you get to an FMV event.

Scale the pre-rendered backgrounds down to DS resolution, use -more- efficient image compression that lowers size -and- improves quality (or allows for higher quality, rather), and hell, improve the textures for the character models. Betcha anything that it easily fits on a 128 MB cart, if not a 64 MB.

All of these Final Fantasy games are starting to confuse me. I never bothered to remember which games were which. (Japanese and North American versions and numbers and it's all so confusing!...)

I would be pretty excited for this, I love all the SNES Final Fantasys.

However, I didnt really like the style of the FF3 remake. As much as I enjoy playing FF6 on the go with FF6Advance, If they were to remake it they should go all out and make it incredible and put it on a next-gen system

That would be my greatest videogame wish come true. That, and a sequel for it. A good one.

FF4 is the first FF game that didn't have the job system (which i dislike), so it'd be great if they remade it for DS.

And remaking IV is a total waste of time and resources.
How about remake XI for DS..

FF3 on the DS had horrible graphics, FF6 on the snes looked far better. If they were to remake some of the FF games with greatly improved 2D graphics, that would be cool, but I don't see a point to pasting 3D graphics onto a 2D game on a system that's good at 2D and bad at 3D.

I agree! Just started playing this and really digging the PS1esque style... Very cool looking IMHO.

Looks nothing like FF 8 or 9. FF7 was made very early so it was expected to look crap

Loved the storyline though, and still following it (waiting for Crisis Core: FF7 on psp

Wow this is good news O.o.. It's weird though, IV's been released on the gba ( well as a snes port ) , then why would they make a 3D version of IV too..

For time being it looks charmful the way it is, hopefully we'll get some more info soon ^^.

the only thing is that now we have to wait a few months for the japanese release, and then a few more months for US release..
so yeah.. 2008? not a good look

i wish videogames would release faster.
