I just picked up a PSP3000 and would like to softmod it. It has firmware 6.39 on it. I was reading the stickies and had a couple of general questions:

I have a pandoras battery from an earlier PSP2000 I had. This is not supported with PSP3000 correct?

I see there is firmware 6.2 permanent and 6.6 temporary available. Other than the documented difference of running the temp hack each time it is rebooted are there any differences in firmware features between the two?

If I am on 6.39 can I downgrade to 6.20 or is my only option to go to 6.60?

Any other useful info I should keep in mind?

Thanks!

Well if you just recently bought that 3000 then yes it's most likely that you could force a downgrade to install a permanent custom firmware. The question is should you? Most people would argue that on the 3000, using a downgrade method that essentially pushes the console somewhere it should never be, and which initially was extremely problematic, is more trouble than it's worth.

A 6.60 Temporary Firmware is fine and offers nothing less than the permanent alternative.
