does it make me a weirdo if im not excited about this?
Depends on the reason why you're not excited. If you've never used the original homebrew app for the DS, I guess it would be understandable. If you did however and is still not excited for this one, then I'd have to say you are quite indeed a weirdo :) . Lol j/k, but in all seriousness though this is one of the best portable painting apps out there. I'm still baffled that people have managed to paint really good pictures in this, especially on a tiny screen.

I'm not, I used Colors DS and I was able to make some stuff although i'm clearly not that artistic I still drew a few things, its pretty easy once your used to it.

I just realized we can re-order and merge layers. *facepalm*
A lot of my earlier stuff wasn't in 3D because I thought I had to use the layers to color stuff in without going over my lines.

How do you reorder them? I made a mistake in one of my paintings because I painted something on a wrong piece of layer (Painted on a foreground layer instead of the back), and I don't want to redo the whole thing >_> .

Press L, go to the "3D" tab, then tap and drag the layers how you want. You can merge them by dragging them to the bottom row, and also clear them if you want. This makes things way easier x)

REALLY!??!!
Another paiting game that's not coming to europe -.-
I hate europe....
It is coming to Europe, it was announced officially. The process only takes a little longer than it did for NA. They were having contests for people to win codes to get it early. For NA and EU (as soon as it's close to release in EU) so just wait a little more :S

If Nintendo DSi/XL support pressure, the hardware registers to read the values are not the same as for DS/DS Lite. Try Colors! 1.06 (which doesn't detect DSi consoles) on a DSi. In the settings menu, it allows you to set the pressure by pressing hard on one section of the screen and soft on another. On a DS/DS Lite, the numbers change depending on how hard you press. On a DSi, they're always zero. There's another program that supports pressure to control brush size, called animanatee. Same deal, it always returns 0 for the pressure values on a DSi. Nintendo either changed the hardware, or disallowed the low level access to the touch screen controller that returns these numbers. Colors 1.1 still fakes pressure on DSi by making opacity increase at a fixed value, but you can't go from max opacity to light mid stroke like you can on a DS lite.
Or it may have just required separate coding. Both screens work in the same way so there's no reason why it couldn't have worked (theoretically).
No, the DSi just didn't have a pressure sensitive screen.

But theoretically all resistive touch screens can use pressure sensitivity, as they all use the same technology. AFAIK it works by measuring how much of the the 2 layers are touching (the more that touches the greater the pressure), so it should be possible on any of the DSs.

I forgot it was coming out.

I saw it on the eShop and instantly bought it. Going to try it out now.
It's pretty nice. I took one of the really nice images I found, fixed it up a little, exported it and used it as my computer's background. It looks really nice.
After looking at the pictures online it makes me never want to draw again!

Some of those are soooo amazing.

I didn't know there was an online website where you could upload and see the animation.
Can these animations be downloaded and played directly from colors! 3D?
Or do you have to download them on your computer and put them on SD card manually to load them to see the 3D effect?

It's great to have a .mpo link directly on the picture page.

It reminds me of Portal Graphics website and community.
Though, the gallery browsing & search page don't look very good.
I think a page with many thumbnails might be better. It's just a suggestion if the developers ever come here ;)

In the app you can save any drawing you find in the gallery to your 3DS and play it back offline. Then you can export it to the SD card to use as a background for a PC, etc. The resolutions are kind of big. It's quite nice.

I just wish the downloaded ones were kept separate from the ones I drew. They're all saved in "my drawings" haha.

That's what I did.
