They told us nothing new :), and yet you guys speculate on in a new thread all from non facts or confirms.
There has been more time to work out what they are doing and the information has been spread out across multiple threads so I was just trying to keep it all together. Also they have been leaking things in chat so that is a little more to go at.

Since the wiiu was released, lots of sites posted that is was hacked and lots of forums started to speculate non facts from just one picture.
My gues is that they saw the fun of that and started feeding these story`s with trolls.
If they or someone else realy is working on it, no one will know untill some real information come`s forward.

Yep, nobody will know. Never went to #f0f...did go to #wiiudev so the f0f is the channel to go see? After megazig on wiiudev went off lying (or was telling the truth), I think I deleted my irc client and thought, "Lying and why bother? Told truth and coward won't say either way other then pm mods delete if I share...so let it go.". Honestly, don't bother. Ignore, shut out, and if anything is released be happy. If not then you did not get hopes up. I tweeted marcan and comex but lowly users don't get replies;-). They play on any info in their hacking so it is fitting they give me no reply or info at all;-).

If you're wondering, the reason why there are no updates is simply because everyone (including me) has been really lazy for the last 2 months and little has been done.

Who would have thought you would turn up. I completely understand about the whole lazy thing I just really want to run linux and emulators on the wii u. Though an idea for when you get it out would be to get the new and flashy tablet ubuntu running as you can compile it from source and it actually works nicely with touch screens.

What was plan A and what is plan B? You did say linux on your twitter before. Others have lied but you told me some true thoughts before.

For that you will have to ask marcan.

...What else to say? I'm really disappointed we haven't released anything, but there are some things that take precedence in my life... for the next few weeks, at any rate.

Thanks Comex. I hope/pray you work those priorities out. You've always been honest and if you don't answer you give something. I did tweet Marcan a few times. Thanks for stopping by;-)

Think about all those things that take precedence in your life now, and sum up their monetary value in dollars.
Now think about the prices all those Wii U games we had to buy because you didn't release an USB loader. This is a lot more.

The reason why I haven't replied is because you've been ridiculously insistent with everyone, and we've learned time and time again in history that there's no way to get people like you off our backs if we dare reply once.

As for Plan A and Plan B, suffice it to say that Plan B was an option all along, but Plan A was a very cool idea that would've made everything both easier in some ways and harder in others (which I find more interesting), while better aligning with what we believe would've been ideal for several reasons. It's also something that hasn't been possible on any other console yet. Plan B is just standard. Unfortunately, Plan A looked like it would've been possible for a while, but alas, it ultimately isn't, at least not completely enough to be practical (just like on all the other consoles). Blame SYSPROT.

So yeah, we've just been lazy/occupied otherwise ever since about the time when we figured out Plan A wasn't going to happen. Nobody's proud/happy about it, but hey, that's how these things work. You have to both have time and be motivated. Personally, I have personal commitments lined up until early April or so that have hard deadlines, besides a full-time job of course.

For the naysayers: don't bother theorizing that we're just faking everything. The "n days" hashes prove everything that we want proven. Even if we were to completely disappear, anyone else who came around and broke into the console to the same extent would be able to verify them. You'll just look silly when that happens, whether it's us behind it or someone else.

Edit: snikerz, you just made me (and probably most of the rest of the team) lose 10 motivation points (unless that was supposed to be sarcastic). Keep it up ;)
(Besides, what Wii U games? It looks like the console is sadly pretty dead itself too.)

Life really does get in the way. Sadly I don't think that snikerz was being sarcastic unfortunately and frankly that is not what the hacking is about. I really want the wii u to take place of what my old wii did and that was be a bloody good emulator. I love just staying up all night from time to time playing good old fashioned zleda or mario etc. However I have played them all too many times to count so I was hoping with the new control scheme I could get a PS2 emulator up and running and even stream the video to the gamepad which would be bloody awesome. So if you ever need motivation to keep on going just imagine being able to play the good old games as oppose to the repetitious releases in modern time, cough cough Call of duty cough. Also just imagine the assholes that would stop bugging you so they can be cheap skates. Finally you could actually bring back life to a, sadly and seemingly, dead console :(

Real life sucks sometimes, that's for sure. But hey, I'm not picky. I know that an exploit will hit the scene eventually, and when it does, I'll be here. I think it's really amazing that you guys simply have the know-how and dedication to do all that you've already done with it.

To be fair, we're only, what, three months from launch? The Xbox 360 launched with 20 titles, 18 of which saw North America, and only 6 of which were in Japan at launch. The Wii U has over 30 launch titles, and 20 more "launch window" titles, so I think its really a perception issue - so many of the good launch titles have already been on 360 and PS3, and many others are admittedly the typical trash that aren't worth waiting through the loading screens, much less paying for. I think it's going to get better, though. I mean, the launch might not have gone as well as the Wii did, but really the Wii U seems to be selling well. It's just a matter of time until the install base is there.

Anyway, don't let the trolls and impatient people get you down. If they don't get their precious exploit for a while.. Well, they'll get over it. I bought a Wii U because I wanted a Wii U. Being able to eventually do something more with it is just gravy.

I really hope you're not being serious. If you are, jump off a bridge and die. I'm serious. Like, if you're playing around with sarcasm, great, funny enough. If you're actually being serious, you need a lesson in entitlement.

Edit: Oh, and marcan, take all the time you need. We, of course, would be incredibly happy if we saw some progress on the Wii U. But unlike dicklips up above, we're happy to wait. Real life is meant to take priority. We're all just strangers on the internet looking for neat morsels of information on progress. If it doesn't happen, we'll all get along just fine. It's not like the console is going anywhere. If you guys did release something, even if it was just a breakdown of what's going right and what's going wrong, that'd be absolutely terrific. But don't feel pressured. Don't stress about it.

Thanks for stopping by Marcan and Comex, and giving us some updates. I (and I'm sure many others) greatly appreciate it, along with all the other work that you have done in the past. As stated above, take all the time that you need. Also, try not to allow obvious trolls like snikerz get to you.

Makes more sense, marcan/comex; good luck in personal matters. Silence-->anticipation-->anxiety-->invent stories to explain silence. Thanks for finally stopping by and adding...something;-)

Thx marcan for your statement.
Please don`t let people offend you, its just a few users that are acting this way.
Sadly enough no admins here takes actions against this kind of behaveiour.
I support the fact that you are even willing to put some time in it, and if you release something like homebrew we all should be glad that you guy`s took the effort for it.
Its not a job and its nothing we can demand from them, its someone who puts a lot of his free time in it.
In my opinion that deserves some respect and not the way some people are acting now.

Wow, Marcan and Comex "stopped by". I'm sure this was a good use of their time

Real life is waaaaaaaay more important than a machine for playing games, patience goes a long way.

IF (in caps) anyone releases anything for free, well it's something for free. Don't waste time speculating and chasing devs around to ask what they think to be stupid questions. The WiiU only has a couple of good games so wanting a piracy tool would only get you a few games.

The possibilities for developers with the gamepad is much more exciting imho.

So why not find something else to do while waiting on some dev somewhere to do something you want ?
Learning something new is absorbing, you should wait for anything that is released and do something useful with your time RayLewis because as far as I can see you are wsting a lot of your own time.

I think because the majority of people realise that developing things like this take time inbetween reality , and then theres you .
I have not said anything in this thread about time or anything and thanked them I believe...and wished them well with personal things.

I don't get all the hate here.

If someone wants to make a thread and speculate about this and that, then more power to them. The thread is clearly titled, it's not going to be a surprise what it's about prior to entering it, no one is forcing you to read it. If you don't like this type of thread, you have a very simple choice--ignore it.

As far as Ray goes, yes he was commenting a lot about all of the speculation. I don't believe it was a matter of impatience as much as it was a matter of excitement for him. He was trying to find out as much as possible about the goings-on and he was sharing whatever he was finding. He was asked for and provided proof numerous times and that's when the lot of you turned extremely hateful. I don't know if it was from embarrassment or because you all just don't like being proven wrong but the whole lot of you that jumped all over him should be ashamed of yourselves for the way you treated him and others.

Get off your damned high horses. All this talk about getting outside and getting a life coming from members with multi-thousand post counts, all this talk about patience from those running to other forums and IRC doing the same as Ray was doing. Nothing but a bunch of hypocrites and aholes.
