Do SD Cards need to be formatted? Do Usb Game channels work with ISOs on an SD Card?

Yes, they need to be formatted as wbfs.
I don't think game channels will work with an sdcard yet, someone needs to make a new direct from channel loader that supports sd.

Wait how does that make sense, if the sd card gets formatted, how can u run the app?

make 2 partitions in SD Card

I confirmed it worked fine.

/dev/sda1 fat for SD/USB Loader 1.2
/dev/sda2 wbfs for games

Any volunteers for a summarize thread for Waninkoko? I mean, Waninkoko can't be bothered with reading 100 pages of 100 threads to find out about bugs.

I'm thinking of really concentrating all necessary and most important really useful information for Waninkoko in just one thread. A list with bugs on the one hand and with a wishlist on the other hand and with detailed information about every point. So for example instead of "free space isn't displayed properly" detailed information if this happens on both sd and usb, when it happens, what's wrong exactly and when it doesn't happen.

C'mon guys, we owe at least this to Waninkoko!

But please not 100 threads of it directly, let's discuss it first here.

PS: And if somebody finds a fix for a bug, it would be nice of course to post the necessary changes
PPS: Maybe a wiki would be better than a thread? i vote for wiki

Installation seems broken after installing a game nothing shows up for me or only a one line that is empty you only see the ">>"
BUT installation on SD card is pretty fast

I tried to install Wii Sports and it said like 15 minutes (takes 1minute and 36 seconds on old loader)

You need a really good sd card or a class 6 sdhc(highest sdhc class) card to be able to dump at the full speed. sdhc class 6 means that the card can be written with 6 MB/s and up and the drive runs at 6x which means it reads with ~8 MB/s.

Can i ask how i can get the wii covers to show up?
I have the boot.dol file in a folder named "Usb Loader v1.2" and i have a folder named "covers " in the root of the card but no covers show up.
Can someone please help me?

Cheers

the cover folders need to be in a folder in the root called "usb-loader"

[ NOTES ]:

- Replace background image (only PNG format):

To replace the background image, copy the image file with the name
"background.png" inside "usb-loader" folder in the root of the SD card.

- Add game cover (only PNG format):

To add a game cover, copy the cover image inside "usb-loader/covers" folder
in the root of the SD card. The filename must be the same as the game ID
(with .png extension).
Bolded = GBA Temp did all of that before this.

So they're is really no point of updating to cIOS36 rev10 besides the SDHC loading suport.
Ill just stick with rev9 for now.

Hi,

I have a folder called usb-loader which has the boot.dol and a folder called covers which has all my covers in it but it still does not show up the covers.
The usb-loader folder is in the apps folder as well.
Any ideas?

Yeah first up you need the rev10 installed for it to work. If thats done you dont put the usb-loader/covers folder in the apps folder. That goes in the root of the SD Card. The boot.dol for the loader though obviously still has to go in the apps folder and whatever you have called the folder its in.

so its

/apps/usb_loader/boot.dol (or whatever you call the usbloader folder)
/usb-loader/covers

If you want to change the background just place the new png file in the /usb-loader folder.

Sorry, I was talking about my USB pendrive
USB Loader 1.1 seems to rip much faster than 1.2 with the same usb drive.

So i have to have rev10 installed before the wii covers will show up is that actually correct?
I have the folders in the correct spot but the screen covers will not show up.
Also is it safe to install rev10?

Cheers

If it aint broke, why fix it? It seems most people want SDHC support even though they're probably not gonna use it., just so they can say 'my wii does this, and that, and this, and that.......'. If you got your Wii doing what you want it to do, leave it alone. Just cos the new cIOS 36 is out, doesn't mean you need it. Unless you've updated or encountered probems, what's the point? How many of you people bitchin out there own a SDHC that you're gonna use with this? As somebody pointed out eariler, with the price of USB storage so low, why bother?

Call me a moaning ba***rd, but i don't see the point in attempting to install/upgrade an app you will prob never use, and then moaning when it doesn't work

Quick question to anyone that can help.. I am still waiting for my USB gecko in the mail should I just wait it out before using this program? or go ahead and use my SD. Thanks
