Just curious which IOS is cIOS USB2 (202) using to install.

It seems it does not work with the 4.0 menu even if the IOS60 has the signing bug patched and also waninkoko's cIOS 249 v8 installed.

Any ideas on workarounds without downgrading?

Thank you

Has anyone even gotten this to work?
I have the cIOS installed. I downloaded it earlier today, before the page was removed on WiiBrew.
It gives me some error...
It's this :
[ + ] ERROR: Could not initialize USB storage subsystem! (ret = -6)
Press any button to restart

the leaked version you are using has the white guy with the afro, right?

it's had all the USB2 stuff removed from it, so it's not calling the USB2 cIOS, and can't load a HD.

Just wait. It was a leak by marcan or bushing to get people pissed off that it's not working, since it can't.

Just delete it, and wait for a real release.

That skips the usb detection step

You open up the usb-loader.dol in a hex editor and change 94 21 FF F0 38 60 00 F9 to 94 21 FF F0 38 60 00 CA

Making the program look for IOS202 (where the CIOS USB installs to) instead of IOS249

So if i where to install this one without hex editing it, It would of overwritten Wanin's cIOS rev8 and replaced it for the usb?
correct me if im wrong, so changing that address will correct the problem and install it correctly how it should right?.

It will just be able to initialize usb, nothing less nothing more...

probably waninkoko will come up with his own custom ios to be installed at slot 249...
moreover that import functionality or a pc application is needed to build the necessary files in the drive....

so it's no use...

Just to bump my question. Was anyone able or knows a way to instal cIOS usb2 when 4.0 firmware update is installed without downgrading(in the case the cIOS 249 v8 is installed)?

Thank you

hey guys, i just bought a usb 2.0 compatible toshiba 500gb external hard drive.

on the usb devices compatibility wiki, it says that the 300gb model works with geexbox and homebrew - not sure if it means usb 2.0 though :S

does it work with this 2.0 driver?

Thanks in advance

Just run the installer ...

It worked on my 4.0E Wii with trucha enabled and cIOS rev8 installed.

if that doesn't work just run IOSdowngrader..........thats what i did............IOSdowngrader not CIOSdowngrader and it won't actually downgrade you just the IOS files

Doesn't seem to install for me. I have 4.0U. I originally had IOS249 rev7 but I updated to rev8 after installing 4.0.

The files seem to download. This is what it says starting from the last 2 downloads:

Downloading part 14/15 (356864K): hash OK. cid:15
SSL ( 06/21/07 14:52:11 64M Release/srd/HEAD )
Downloading part 15/15 (158720K): hash OK. cid:47
FFS ( 12/23/08 17:26:21 64M )
ES ( 07/14/08 19:37:35 64M )
IOSP ( 12/23/08 17:28:32 64M )
Found new-school ES hash check @ 0x58aa, patching.
Updating TMD.
adding EHC module
found a free cid: b
Chaning titleid from 00000001-0000001f to 00000001-000000ca
forging tmd sig
forging tik sig
Download complete. Installing:
Installing ticket...
Adding title...
Adding content ID 00000000install_nus_object(0x80061dc0, 0)
ES_Add ContentStart(00000001000000ca, 0)
:
ES_Add ContentStart(00000001000000ca, 0) failed: -1017
install returned -1
exiting with code 1

Looks like it has problems right at the ES_Add ContentStart(00000001000000ca, 0)
When I press the home button it takes me back to the homebrew channel

And I've definitely seen that -1017 before (or it might have been -2011). Like when I had 3.3U with the October 23rd update and I tried to install DVDx before the DVDx for 3.4 came out.

Is there a way to install this with the cIOS using wad manager instead of using its own installer?

I seem to be getting that very error, it seems to be the last instruction.
