are we replacing the current backgrounds in the game with the much better AI upscale mod from the fan community? I'd like to help but not too sure on how other than basic file editing and replacement. Since there higher resolution already they are hopefully already masked well though . Should be very exciting to see the final version of this especially on the switch handheld mode. Really hoping someone can access the cpu emulation within there psx wrapper and change the clock speed. Beetle psx requires 270% to reach 60. This could be the ultimate version

Still, bit sad it's just emulated, but I guess that makes save injections and modding a bit easier since it's still the psx game.

Just wanted to make a little update post for anyone interested in the mod progress of this game on the Nintendo Switch and the PC version. Overall both communities are coming together nicely in both Discords and a lot of work has been busted out from HD texture replacement for the Overworld to UI and menus to the Battle and Field model characters to even a full on script re translation that is reverting back all the script changes in this re release back to the original OG game plus polishing and adding in new additions to optimize gameplay. All around amazing work is being done and many many great things are to come for this game and community moving forward! So how do we use these mods?

Just go to the provided google drive link at the beginning of the post and downloaded the mod you want. From there just drop the entire Switch game title ID folder aka "0100AC20128AC001" into your romfs folder on your Switch's SD card. Then boot up the game like normal and you are good to go. Keep in mind this mod requires a hacked Switch like every other Switch mod and your directories may change given what Firmware you are using between Atmosphere & SXOS.

It’s an audio codec issue that's currently being sorted out. They work fine on PC but some special work will have to be done to convert the audio codec to a functional state to be compatible with the Nintendo Switch. Just give it some time and hopefully we can get it all sorted out.

By any chance, do you have an update on whether it will be possible to improve the framerate in the Switch version? That's really the main thing that ruins the game experience currently IMO.

Currently the game on PC has just had its framerate fixed via a phenomenal hex edit patch by Isa which has also been uploaded to Nexus mods. I’ll link that mod below for anyone interested in checking it out. But sadly outside of that no fix has come to the Switch version yet but fingers crossed something might come soon.
