Gaming Check what hacked firmware the 360 is on

Well recently, my bro bought a 360 from our cousin, after buying it he said that the 360 could run burned games.

We thought that was good because we were planning to flash the DVD drive.

So basically, I want to know how to check what firmware it is on, and where i can get updates. The DVD drive is hitatchi by the way.

EDIT: I am not sure if i left enough info, so if i didn't just inform me and i'll add what i can.

Dump it , and load the dumped firmware into firmware toolbox and it might show you what version it is (not 100% it will) , other than that feed it a non-stealth backup , if it boots it's an old firmware , if it doesn't then it's a ixtreme firmware (won't know which version though).

If you are gonna try a boot a non-stealth disc to see if it's a ixtreme version or not , don't be connected to live when doing it.
