ROM Hack Chaning music in games like Pokemon?

Pokemon: Soul Silver has a lot of awfully generic songs that I'd like to replace with the older battles song. Is it possible to replace the songs with a couple midis to replace the awfully generic battle music with the songs from the games like Pokemon: Yellow? If so which tool would I use?

You get the GB Player only after you get all 16 badges, then go talk to the sound developer dude at the Celadon building (the one with the old lady at the ground floor, the hotel or something).

They changed it to the GB Sounds in the English version. But it's still definitely great.
