As we all know, there are two modes you can use the 3DS when playing DS games: filtered and pixel perfect (holding Start while starting the game/TWL++).

The pixel perfect mode, however, makes things very tiny on an OG 3DS (naturally) with a very weird layout to boot - while it makes sense considering the original hardware, having both screens squished on the corners just feels very weird and uncomfortable to me. You have this ton of black space which isn't easy on the eyes.

I'm wondering if there isn't an option, configuration or homebrew to change the way this layout is presented. Something like centering both screens or even managing to send the upper one to the upmost position. I'd like to have this option and know if it is possible or exists somehow. Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a TWPatch program in which you can configure the display of DS games.
But is there an option to display both screens in native resolution with black bars on sides and image in the centre? Aka how GBA games display, but GBA layout would apply for both top and bottom screens

I don't know if there is. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I think the default setting is the way it is so that games that use the 2 screens like 1 giant, vertical display (Sonic Rush comes to mind) display correctly.

It'd be great if someone could make two center screens instead of top screen being pressed to the bottom and bottom screen being pressed to the top.

Can I contact someone who would be able to change the layout?

Switch 2 will be your most powerful handheld (most likely) but Nintendo has always been a generation behind Sony/ Xbox, so doubt it will get the newest of games, n if it does, will be a watered down version, like Switch 1 got

Most powerful hardly series x specs will still crap on it

Most powerful handheld I said. I imagine it won't last long tho, ROG or Steamdeck 2 will prob overpower it. I will prob buy a switch2 tho, gotta have that Mariokart 9.

I kinda doubt that also Asus will keep releasing or if Xbox doesn't come out with some handheld by then

I'm thinking of selling my current drum machine, piano keyboard, and few synthesizers, and buy a new $699 drum machine/ workstation. Downsize but upgrade. But like any device, ill never get the money I paid into it. Hard to let stuff go for half what you paid.
