Hacking Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin cheat error

Having trouble making the cheat's for Portrait of Ruin work.
Whenever I turn them on, I get the 2 white screens. As other codes in the same game such as kill boss in 1 hit... dont even work at all.
Anybody having the same trouble, is this an issue or is it just me?

Thought it might be cause my savefile was made by another version of the firmware, even though I couldnt understand why. But other games made from earlier firmware work fine.
Its just Castlevania.

oh, and a side question.. the R4 v1.02 cheat code database. Is that the same database that comes along with the firmware?
or is it an updated better version?

The latest firmware (namely version 1.09) has... some issues with cheats. If you are using this firmware, cheats won't work (at least according to my experience that is)

The R4 v1.02 cheat code database is basically a database containing more cheats for more games in contrast to the earlier version. Nothing special there.

Also, I doubt different firmwares will create different save files, so don't you worry

Guess I'll have to be patient..

and I actually noticed the version of the cheat database on the newest firmware said v1.02. So I guess the newest comes bundles with the latest firmware.

you were right, it was the newest firmware.
I used the v1.08 firmware, and it worked fine. Cheats and all... Guess I'll stick with this version until there is a new one.
