Capcom wants to see street fighet IV on PSP

Capcom revealed yesterday that Street Fighter IV is coming to the iPhone platform next month. If the project manager also has her way, the fighting game could also appear on the PSP.

In a recent Q&A post on her Japanese blog, Natsuki Shiozawa said that she wants Street Fighter IV on the PSP. In fact, many of her colleagues at Capcom expressed the same sentiment.

With the unveiling of the iPhone version, a PSP port wouldn’t be too far fetched. Not to mention that the precedent of porting high-defintion fighting games to handhelds has already been set by other companies like Arc System Works (BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger) and Namco (Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and Tekken 6).

In addition to Street Fighter IV on iPhone, Capcom is set to release Super Street Fighter IV for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 27th.

Just do Super Street Fighter 4.

It would do well on PSN that is for sure also do a Wii version seeing TvsC has sold well and it'll spread costs out a touch. Of course if there is a new Nintendo handheld it'll be at least as powerful as PSP so they can spread the dev costs further and be able to sell the game on a unhacked portable.

I was actually beyond shocked that they'd make it for the iPhone and NOT the PSP. I mean c'mon, the iPhone? The PSP is the best solution to a handheld Street Fighter game.

As for the game, I'm not really one for fighters, but I still think it's better that they release it on the PSP if at all.

Its not a question of how much space they use but what they put into that space. Street Fighter is a fighting game so it won't use up too much space it just depends on the number of and the quality of the models (which i'd hope will be the max the PSP can handle)

So why did they even make an iPod version in the first place? I see no reason except to sell it to the growing population of people using them. (THEY ARE STILL NOT GAMING DEVICES TO ME)

Soulcalibur : Broken Destiny was a great port of SC4 to the PSP. The game looked amazing as well, so there is no doubt at all whether or not the PSP can handle it. Personally, the D-Pad on the PSP 2000 has never let me down while playing SFA3MAX, so there would be no reason to worry about that for SFIV.

If those early screenshots of the iPhone version were anywhere near final engine screenshots, then I don't even want to look at it, the iPhone being a better gaming console than the PSP is a joke.

But it is Capcom, just look at the success they've had with those Monster Hunter games (in Japan). That makes them one of the few that have actually managed to sell games on the PSP so far.

i'd say it will really do well as bleach and others did but it depends when it comes out... release it much later with upgraded concepts from SF4 and more like Super Street Fighter 4
