I'm on a 2013 Mac Pro running Sierra OS 10.12.3. On my Vita I use vitaShell to mount the drive through a USB cable. I can't eject that drive properly (by clicking the Eject icon next to the drives name) and get the "disk not ejected properly" error every time.

Since I'm using a 64gb card - which I've read can be prone to corruption (especially if it isn't ejected properly), I'm trying to find out the proper way to eject this drive - even if the solution is a Linux command in Terminal that is fine for me.

I've tried two different Mac's on Sierra. The Vita ejects properly every time on a 2009 Mac Pro running El Capitan OS, FYI.

Shutdown and use only FTP.

Not possible with only 2.4ghz wireless and we're talking about a single game being well over 3gb... (lucky to get like 2-3mb/sec in real world use).

Bound to be some sort Sierra indexing b*llocks, happens to some of the triage drives I use for work. This might help as it deletes those files then safely ejects: https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/27416/hidden-cleaner

Really old app but seems to still work fine in Sierra.

Thanks. Never thought those ._ files would prevent the drive from ejecting...is that what is happening? I'll try that program and see if it helps (I can also clear those files off with a Terminal command...just have to find what I used last time and see if that does it).

Unlikely that they are the cause, more likely that trying to write some kind of index (using those files) is the cause and hence wiping them and ejecting may fix.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
