i have new 3ds with 9.0 fw, downgraded with gateway to 4.5
i need format sysnand to unlink sysnand and emunand, or maybe someone know other way?
i do it because when i change theme on emunand and turn off console, after power up sysnand have changed background and i sometimes gateway not start, but when it do theme is changed to normal
i read somewhere i need to unlink sysnand and emunand, but i have downgraded new 3ds, and i dont know if this is possible
after format do i need downgrade it again ?

You can also format your emunand to unlink.

No emunand upgrade is required to unlink.

No we don't know what you mean. If you start playing loosey goosey with things like your Fw version you are going to get some bad advise around here. Say what you mean. :)

    here is tutorial for mset:

    http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/threads/288767-TUTORIAL-Downgrade-N3DS-MSET-*proper-way*

and this is something that i dont know :

    - If you format emuNAND after MSET is downgraded, you need to Update/restore MSET
first, to re-activate Nintendo Account (NNID) and other related new3DS settings!!!

i read on gbatemp that i need update emunand after that to restore mset

OK, that comes from the confusion over the word format. 2 types involved. "Format emunand" from the gateway menu thus creating it. The other is formatting emunand from system settings which wipes it and sets it back to defaults. The second one is what you do to unlink the nands.

If you format emunand from the gateway menu after you downgrade mset, you will create an emunand without any current features such as NNID, 3Ds calibration etc. That is what the guide is talking about.

as long as you created emunand before you downgrades mset all you need to do is format sysnand with mSD card removed or format emunand. Both options are within system settings.

Yes I did it with mSD inside. I did it to unlink my emunand in order to fix the 'open up present box everytime' problem. All my CIA was intact in the emunand even after sysnand format. (note that when i did it, i didnt have any savefiles because i haven't played any games yet. The CIA games is in there but I cant say what will happen to the savefile. I think it should be there as well).
