I'd suggest Metal Slug 7. You can beat the game in about 1-2 hour(s). After you can then try the other difficulties or the Combat School.

Short but fun= The Legend of Kage 2. I beat it in 4 hours. That's pretty short in my book.

The Phoenix Wright games were pretty short, but I have already beat them all...including Apollo Justice.

Contra 4 is also another good pick. Just don't think you'll be finishing it anytime soon, even though it IS short...
Feel the Magic XX/XY is a short and fun puzzle game.

Also, some games that aren't horribly long, but you probably won't finish them in a single sitting: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, Sonic Rush.
