I have a "new" (2015) 3ds Xl that I have just ordered a new motherboard for, the only thing that's missing is the inbuilt microphone and was wondering if im gonna need to buy a new part just to get it to boot or not? Thanks!

The ribbon cable, or the port/module itself?I have a "new" (2015) 3ds Xl that I have just ordered a new motherboard for, the only thing that's missing is the inbuilt microphone

It's just a ribbon cable. Completely replaceable. The ribbon cable, or the port/module itself? It can't be un-soldered, can it?
Yea, i was thinking of the port itself that the mic's ribbon cable connects to..It's just a ribbon cable. Completely replaceable.
The whole mic module is gone, ribbon cable and the mic. I can easily buy one for like $15 on ebay but was seeing if I need it, won't even use it so.The ribbon cable, or the port/module itself?
Not sure if the n3dsxl won't boot if it's not plugged in, fwiw my n3dsxl has one but it doesn't work, the ribbon cable is damaged, it works fine. And btw you can use the mic on your headphones if you needed that functionality.
I think it should work without it.The whole mic module is gone, ribbon cable and the mic. I can easily buy one for like $15 on ebay but was seeing if I need it, won't even use it so.
Just got new motherboard, flashes a red light for split second and thinking is that gonna be it then? Need a new mic?I think it should work without it.
Was the motherboard a known good item, or was it sold with any sort of warnings attached to it?Just got new motherboard, flashes a red light for split second and thinking is that gonna be it then? Need a new mic?
Bought from ifixit, was expecting it to be fine, i mightve accidentally bent two pins on one of the connectors. Was the motherboard a known good item, or was it sold with any sort of warnings attached to it?
