if I buy a brand new Nintendo 3ds xl. will it come out on the latest 10.5 or 10.6 version or on an older version so that I can do gateway?

It will be in 9.2 or lower which you will be able to use Gateway or a CFW.

I believe so, he said "brand new Nintendo 3ds xl" the word new as part of brand new rather than New 3DS.

I guess Nintendo of Japan and their sense of the word *NEW* is totally missguided lol

I hear FE: Fates is 10.3, but 10.4 is where the downgrade is lost.

There are literally ZERO reports of 10.4 units... The highest confirmed are the Fates systems that are at 10.3... So yeah, I would say you have a %99.9 chance of having a 10.3 or lower system out of the box.

Target and wally world have amazing return policies. I've spend 2 hrs there buying and returning n3ds units till I left with ips screens
