this is probably the stupidest idea ever, :what if: somebody made a make email like [email protected] ,some crap like that email pretending to be a Nintendo technician and got the exploit from him. then somebody can work on from that. just a thought.

Not like this would work anyway, but you are aware that Bushing reads sites like TehSkeen and GBAtemp, right?

You all are really a bunch of fucking idiots.

Its the idiots who come up with the crazy ideas, and its the idiots who provide innovation. (im not acctually an idiot, at all)

Nintendo, they could not find these exploits. but within not very long, we have.

I think Nintendo would use a letter for this, not email. Letters are considered more "official" by companies.

I dont think they would. its toobig a matter to 1. leave to the postal service
2. be slow about
3. need details and that, theyd have to relay info for a good whle before they could send a letter.

Nintendo IM =p

I agree. But the idiots that say "lets make a fake email from nintendo to get the exploit and we work on it ourselves" are not innovators. they are 12yr olds without a clue.

Im just pored and pissed off i cant get a modchip >_<
We need this, someone needs to contact bushing on a non- OMFG LIK GIMME basis

i bet he using that exploit to play backup all the time. he isn't against piracy he just doesn't want Nintendo to block it so he could play all him pirated game

We don't need to do any such thing. Leave the fucking guy alone. You are not any better than these children that are begging and crying for a way to play copied games.

I've never fully understood why people call them condoms; I've never personally seen much of a resemblance...

Anyways, my view of the situation is this: Bushing is all for legal homebrew on the Wii, and he honestly did release his tools and data such as PatchMii and the wad programs for the sake of homebrew, not piracy like VC theft or maybe even emulators(but I doubt he takes it that far). My guess is that is someone makes some sort of bootloader for unmodded Wiis because of his work, he'll take the PSP hacker route and stop working with the Wii altogether(Or at least, this is my vague understanding of some of the PSP scene's going-ons.). The Wii may not be a PSP, but way too many people treat it like one.

Bottom line, if you idiots want to play your "backups" that badly, go buy a modchip, their dirt cheap. In the meantime, be happy with what you have.

And im not stupid, not at all.

With the upmost respect to bushing, all of the current piracy methods (modchips, wads, ect) are either a direct or indirect result of him and team tweezers efforts and the release of their findings. Regardless of what he admits to publically, he must be ok with (and maybe even encourage?) piracy or else he would be so morally objective to it that he'd quit releasing info for fear of making things worse.

The purpose of his post was to cover his own ass and to give himself some sort of moral justification when (note I didn't say "if") he releases the findings that show how to load discs. It was a round-about way of saying: "If you don't contact me in 5 days I"m going to tell everybody about this." Now expecting a big company like nintendo to respond to an email from an average joe in less than a week is like expecting to get through the DMV in 5 minutes... it ain't gonna happen. So I can conclude that he has every intention to release the info either publically or indirectly to other hackers that will use the data for a disc loader.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I just mean to say that you guys should kick that pedastal out from under the guy and realize that he doesn't have any real moral highground over any of the other people working in the scene. He's bushing, he knows his stuff, so there is no question that he HAS found an exploit, so let's quit that argument right there. The exploit will get out as well, the question isn't if, it's when.

Expect to be able to play backups by August.

I'm not even going to waste more words than needed here. You're wrong.

Keep dreaming if you want to interpret a VERY clear post intended for Nintendo to mean something it doesn't. I'm telling you from an informed point of view it won't be made public by him.

Let's just put it this way... I may be wrong about bushings primary intentions, but i'm not about the rest.

Also if he, yourself or any of his associates think for a second that nintendo frequents his homepage enough (or even ever) so that they would see that post you are all living in a dream world. He isn't even a blip on Nintendo's radar. Quite frankly the big N is making money hand-over-fist primarily from hardware sales... I'm not even sure if they are concerned about piracy that much. It is this very fact that lead to my speculation because nobody in his position with any degree of modesty would think nintendo would see that post for a second. So yeah, I could be wrong about his intentions, but that would mean he's completely full of himself.

It's this very quality that'll lead to the leaked info. He'll talk about the exploit (either the actual exploit, or what lead to it's discovery) behind closed doors to enough people that it'll eventually get out. The very fact that he's told the world that there is a software method has ALREADY let it out, especially considering that he posted this just a few days after patchmii was released which lead any reasonable person to believe that the key is the ios.
I can again say quite categorically you're wrong. Nintendo are known to have visited the sites, and in fact do so frequently. Hence the method. It also won't be discussed. People are trusted with information every day and things dont get out. Why should they? The mistakes early on were learned from on that part. People can believe whatever they like is key. People are free to dream that USB will magically allow dvds to boot for all they care. Bushing wants to - and in fact may well have very soon - contact Nintendo. Simple. Clear. Plain. No hidden meanings, no hidden agenda, sometimes a spade is just a spade, and so on.

I can't get a chip either. I have a house to pay for, so I save for the games I really want. I'm not saying I am pro-piracy or anti-piracy but none of you have any right to beg and/or demand he release this.

Show me one "wad program" that bushing released...

Remember that waninkoko has been (is still?) from wiidev...

And a softmod is not the holy grail of wii hacking. The holy grail would be fully featured and stable libogc so everybody can write some ass-kicking homebrew...

Ok, ive been reading this for a while and I think that Nintendo will address this but they are doing shit

one they dropped the bomb at E3 and everyone called them on it. If they care about their die hard fans... they wont have time to work on a little firmware glitch

they need to pump out a wii zelda game
