Every 360 model except the newest has a drive that is very easily flashed with just a PC, allowing backups to be played. PS2 homebrew on the PS3 become possible last week.

the XBOX and 360 were some of the easiest systems to mod! Hell, it took me all of 1.5 mintues to softmod my xbox 1 to watch movies from my home network, and play burnt games!

The PS1 had the swap disc, so did the PS2, and the PS2 had the HD loader expoit that is SO EASY TO USE!

Ah, it's a shame this being patched would also limit homebrew expansion into the DVD realm, but I guess the two cannot exist at the same time.

If this security flaw is patched, there also won't be any burned DVD access for homebrew, which is nice in emulators, etc.

... and for a media player homebrew. It would be nice to play DVD movies from the Wii.

Would it not be possible to create a loader (Loke GCOS) for the wii that uses the same general principals of that emulators disk reading thing?

we win in both ways!

1. Bushing has to get in contact with Nintendo by the fifth day, And its "Possibly" the 4th day.
2. If Nintendo does patch, we could get waninkoko to compare the New IOS with the current one and find what has been patched! OWNED!

Just hope they don't change the encryption method in the new firmware. It would be harder to Decrypt but We would easily get there. The PSP's firmware switched Decryption format 4 times! We always beat them in the end.

If not however..

Ideas:

Mod Cios to Load a genuine game, and then FREEZE the Wii, eject the game and put in a backup and it will detect it and before unfreezing Injects patcher to load the disc from Intro.

I suppose we will find out everything sooner or later. icecoolwas i see your point that any new updates can just be compared to see exactly what they patch up, but i dont think its going to be a simple as that. i wouldnt know where to begin.

For another... well, I've seen enough conversation about it that I know it is a fact. What, you think I'm saying this without being 100% aware of what is going on? I've personally at the least gotten him in contact with someone and know what is going on, in detail. You don't. Mostly because it's none of your business, and you don't need to know. I'm actually trying to prevent you wasting your time with this silly false hope just because he followed a known policy for working with a company. Sigh.

Sorry, we aren't in the piracy scene. We're the homebrew scene. A "we the people who want to make our own apps/games/whatever" thing. Not a "we the freeloading cheapskates" thing.
I'm not sure what's bitching or high and mighty about telling you simple things I know, but you can take it however you prefer. I mean you say share what I know, and I just did.
