inspect your mod, the only thing that makes sense to have caused this.
bu....bu....its not my fault
I ripped a pad on another 3DS which is still working btw,
The hardware mod on this 3DS XL works,
so basically you have a habit of trying to solder and failing....something like this was bound to happen, i suggest you get some practice soldering (or maybe a better soldering iron), i have done probably around 20-30 3DS's and not once have i managed to rip off a pad, but i have seen a couple of dead consoles due to people trying to do the mod themselves....and some that where properly dead because of it

Hi, just wanted to let you know that my 3DS XL still works, I read somewhere to let the battery drain out, and afterwards it would work.
So i did that, plugged the charging cable in, and it worked, tested a game, rebooted a few times, with and without cable/sd card works perfectly.

I was a little curious and decided to try to boot into gateway with the same (corrupt) sd card, and it happend again, BSOD, this time with the top screen mirrored.
I let the battery drain out again, and it works again.

Tried it with another SD card, and Had no trouble with it, it booted normaly and works fine.

Ok what exactly do you mean by bsod? Blue or black screen of death, blue would be a hardware fault, black would mean you should just turn it off or remove the battery

A blue screen, but 1 out of 10 times it was black also,

Sounds like your 3ds is on it's way out imo....maybe it was a fluke, but the blue screen is a sign of hardware failure,if it's not gateway brick related it would suggest something in your 3ds is faulty, especially if it persisted even after removing the battery

But it works now, ...
Ok well the main point was, that the fault is not brick code related like what this tread was about, but either some fault due to your 3DS, be it sd card or whatever, and all I was saying is that it could possibly down to a intermittent fault somewhere, as removing the battery should have the same effect as leaving it to go flat

Well, I think I just bricked my 3DS XL.
I did some tinkering around in the settings, and accidentally pressed something that wrote information to my SD card, it went so fast there wasn't even a chance to abort the operation.
Now whenever I try to power the system on I get this message (Gateway 3DS or SD inserted doesn't matter, I still get the same message):

BOOTROM 8046
ERRCODE: 00F800EF
FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF
00000008 00000000

Is there a way to fix this? I obviously backed up my original NAND when I set up the Gateway 3DS for the first time, long before this happened.
It might be worth noting that all of this happened in Gateway mode as well....

Please help me out here
I did this to my n3ds with soundhax... I'm on 2.1 or something and I used to be able to get into the main menu but not anymore. I have a nand back up but no al9h so I'm guessing I'm out of luck?
