With the current interface, it could be added to change quantity of items in your inventory, but adding a new item would be significant work. If you already have at least one then you could change it from there. You can also use the online editor to do anything this one cannot. I use this for easy rupees and refreshing the durability of my weapons.
I thought the online editor was Wii U only? How would I use it with switch?

This is correct as of now, I can tweak the code to modify items quantity. But if you look in the code I don't use a JSON parse so I wrote a function to return the item/weapon/shield/arrow name, since the save_file.bin only returns me internal names (example: Weapon_Sword_070, Weapon_Shield_02, Item_Mushroom_2). I will finish my arrays soon (tm) So you can edit the quantity of items. Once finished that, I will start to edit the item (replace it with another one) after that I will look to add items. Once I clean my code and I finished that, I will only focus on creating a GUI.

I made this simple Homebrew app to edit your rupees, weapon durability and arrow quantity.

It is still a WIP, I've got much to improve.

IT ONLY WORKS ON V1.5 OF BOTW Now it works for all versions :)

Instructions:
  • Open BOTW with your current user. Wait until the title screen, then exit it. (Close the game, too);
  • Open the Save Editor and select save file slot. (Usually it is 5 or 0).
  • Use DPAD UP/Down to Increase/Decrease the integer. Use DPAD Left/Right to move the cursor.
  • Use L/R to move between items.
  • Press A to Commit Changes.
  • Press + to exit.

Disclaimer:
  • Please always make a backup before editing your save file; I'm not responsible for any lost save file.
  • This is a WIP, it contains bugs.

If you want to contribute please DM me, I seriously need help.

EDIT: I updated the zip file, it contains 2 nro's one for normal mode and the other for master mode. Now it mounts the save directory now you don't have to use Checkpoint to extract your save file. But ALWAYS make a backup.

If you want to contribute please DM me, I seriously need help.

Here is my project in Github if you want to compile it/fork it/see the code: github (dot) com/Jpe230/BOTW-Save-File-Editor

Look at the quote below. The bold text is important, and the red text is where you went wrong. I recommend editing both slots 0 and 5 to what you want.

Instructions:
  • Open BOTW with your current user. Wait until the title screen, then exit it. (Close the game, too);
  • Open the Save Editor and select save file slot. (Usually it is 5 or 0).
  • Use DPAD UP/Down to Increase/Decrease the integer. Use DPAD Left/Right to move the cursor.
  • Use L/R to move between items.
  • Press A to Commit Changes.
  • Press + to exit.

Also, there won't be any files on your SD card; it mounts and reads the save from NAND.

should i use the save editor master file version or the save editor and i did do the L/R and set everything to 99999 etc

I think the Master Version is for the Master Quest DLC you should use the normal BOTW-Save-File-Editor v.02 Version

I did some testing and everyone thats having success stories arent saying you have to change one item at a time and exit the homebrew then reopn the app to change another item. Dont try editing multiple items at once or it wont work!

@Jpe230 youre welcome

just use checkpoint or similar to get it on your sd card, then move it to your pc and drop the .sav file into that page.. works just fine on switch.. it tells you at the top of the page if it detected a wiiu or switch save.. then just edit away, save the file and copy it back to the sd card.. overwriting the previous one and restore with checkpoint..
