does the dns used to update to 3.65 also block future updates while on 3.65?

Yes because it thinks 3.65 is the latest version

Plus spoofing is set in Henkaku settings to 3.68.

HENkaku itself attempts to block updates by spoofing the latest version. Just make sure your spoofed version is set to 3.68 in the HENkaku Settings.
