What is your USB? USB sticks are known to fail fast, if it is an HHD or an SSD it might not be getting enough power, to get a 2TB FAT32 formatted Seagate portable drive working I needed a Y-Cable. 3.0 USB things often down scale to 2.0, but most portable drives need a lot of power, a Y-Cable takes power from both USB ports, or you could buy a powered USB hub that plugs into the wall and a source, if USB Loader GX fails you likely have a lack of power, or your Wii is melting a USB stick. It's likely your Wii not giving the drive power. My own fix was a Y-Cable.
