Hello, I posted for some assistance a while back regarding display issues here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/getting-black-screens-for-anything-relating-to-original-wii.538141/

To start, here's a summary and update on the situation since I looked into this again recently:
  • The screen is an LG 32GK850G-B 31.5" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor as shown here: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32GK850G-B-gaming-monitor
  • I am using an HDMI cable
  • ColdBoot Haxchi is installed
  • Native Wii U titles are displayed correctly
  • Wii titles have black borders regardless of whether they are from the e-shop or Virtual Console injects
  • Failure to set resolution to 480p results in no picture other than on the Wii U gamepad

ALSO, I get the same issue with the Wii as well. I'd just like to confirm if it's my monitor which is the problem or if there is something else I can do.

I don't know. resolutions and aspect ratios can be a bit finicky in my experience. I have a black border when using snes9x on the snes classic, but I think it's a limitation. the reason I say that is that the same game on the wii u (which has black bars), has the edges black as well. I guess there's nothing actually there. I'm having a difficult time explaining what I mean.
