I am having an issue with ModMii 4.2.5 where a bunch of the downloaded IOS wads are failing the MD5 check and the problem seems to persist with the same wads despite multiple attempts to redownload them.

I am using the wizard with the following options: Y, 3.X, U, 4.1, A, Y, Y, D, Y

Copying from the download log at the end (I've edited out the valid wads) I get the following invalid wads and their MD5s:

I think the update yesterday screwed up some stuff, I'll have a look

edit:
I have confirmed that all the IOSs that were updated, their older version have also had their ticket (*.tik) changed. I'm starting to think this is standard ninty practice when updating IOSs as this also happened when 4.3 came out (in fact, if u go back to June posts in this thread u will see a lot more in depth explanation)

In the meantime, just wait it out, I'll get everything fixed soon enough

edit: I skimmed through ur prob, i don't have time to really dig into it right now, but if u install a cMIOS from ModMii it could fix it. U may also want to apply region free hacks via priiloader (if playing original out of region discs via disc channel), you can also look into using NeoGamma instead of USB Loader GX to launch GC games.
Ok, thanks. I should have seen that direct download link. Guess I didn't read your first post thorough enough. I'll see if the cMIOS from ModMii fixes things, and if not I'll check out NeoGamma.

@XFlak
got the problem fixed. it was some stupid setting in IE that caused the 404. now the only problems are ios58 & ios61 md5 not verifying... any suggestions?

more specifically ios58-64-v6175 and ios61-64-v5661

the files should be safe to install, but they are not the same files that nintendo was hosting a couple days ago, so until I update ModMii, u will see many of these errors

the only files that may not behave properly if "invalid" are cIOSs, all other files should be safe to install even if it says invalid

edit: can u elaborate on how u solved your problem, so I can tell people to try w/e u did if they encounter a similar problem? thx

u can't download those wads from anywhere else (at least not legally), u can use a cIOS installer to install them instead if u like... or just don't install them for the time being... of the ModMii recommended cIOSs, the only one that is "invalid" is 222. I'm gonna be working on this tonight and 2morrow, and hopefully have something ready soon (but no promises!)

PS. can u elaborate on how u solved your problem, so I can tell people to try w/e u did if they encounter a similar problem? thx

cool. thanks again for all your help with this, and for the awesome proggy.

as far as the problem that i was having:

i had no problem loading pages in firefox/opera/safari/chrome, but couldn't load anything in internet explorer. i never use it anyway, so i just forgot about it. then, today a thought hit me, since modmii needs .net framework, it may rely on ie's internet settings. so i went in there, noticed there was a proxy box checked that shouldn't be. unchecked it, and boom. game on.

I have tried repeated downloads and still fails.
Have tried modmii 4.2.5, 4.2.3 , and NUS 4.2.2 same results on different systems.

any ideas?

This cap was from a new download of 4.2.5
with some new errors i didn't have before.

Kflak quote [answer to my problem]:

make sure u are using the latest version of modmii (4.2.5), then use that to help u download and install priiloader, then launch priiloader and use it to enable the block updates system menu hacks, then u will be able to play super smash bros brawl from the disc channel without being prompted to update.

make sure u have your usb hard drive plugged into Port 0 (the bottom port). If u can't get usbloader gx to recognize your drive, try configurable usb loader (usb loader gx has some good stable revs, but also some buggy revs... i believe one rev even somehow led to a few bricks).

Also, make sure u have cIOSs installed, u can use ModMii to download+install recommended cIOSs to make sure u have them all up to date.

I doubt u would want to get rid of the WBFS partition u have been using. But I strongly recommend reformatting your drive as 100% FAT32 (which is capable of launching homebrew as well as store wii games for use with usb loaders). You can use ModMii USB-Loader Setup Guide to assist u if u decide to do that.
QUOTE said:
Thanks, the priiloader worked... now i can play Super Smash Bros Brawl..
i also noticed the cIOS [249, 222, 257 and more], and i allready had them in the SD card, i removed them some [most of them couldn't] with MMM and then installed them again.

I still can use usb loader gx, it does not reconigze the usb hdd, it is connected in port 0, and i allready used this guide on other wii and it works great on usb loader gx..

my question is: wich cIOS should i install? Do i need to change some IOS? .. and using what would that be [MMM or in some other way]?

Additional info: if i load MMM it says I'm on IOS236; the HBC [after pressing home i think] says on the top right corner IOS60 so i reinstalled the HBC with BootMii and now it says IOS58

Thank you.. Ekima

Original problem:
QUOTEFirst of all, the software is cool and accurate, thx for it, i liked it..

I have a problem and i need help..
I had an allready modded wii with 4.0U .. and i tryed to upgrade to 4.1

the answers were:
4.0 - U - 4.1 - internet channel - shop channel - some ios, ios236 installer and priiloader..

i followed the generated instructions, no probs there, until step 4 "After modding"
it supossed to be the priiloader on the homebrew channel but i didnt see it, just the ios236 installer and the mmm..
so i skipped that..

next to list was to check the SD to have a boot.dol and icon.png and meta.xml inside app folders, but i just found the mmm and the ios236 folders..
so could do that either..

anyways, if i check the nintendo system it says 4.1U .. so yes it is upgraded..

the real problem begins with the usb loader, i used the usbloader gx... the upgrade installed me a new one.. whatevever..
both of them says there is no usb device connected, and obviously i checked all that and it is and it works.. formatted with WBFS [this is how i always used]

so, what can i do to make it work again? obviously I'm running ios236.. i needed for the upgrade..

and also, i only have one Game on DVD.. Super Smash Brother Brawl, bought it before any modding.. after the first mod [4.0] i could use it..
now, i cant because when i insert it, it tells me that i need to upgrade my nintendo.. i choose not to by forcing a restart [hold the power button]..

so, i can't play smash, my only "real" game =p .. nor any of the rest stored on the usb hard drive... any advice?..

Thanks for the time you're offering
Ekima.. ^^

It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
