There have been a few leaked and partial things, Archaic Sealed Heat getting a very late stage leak that we never saw a final for.

Most of the RPGs that were done were good. 7th Dragon coming from some of the same minds as the 16 bit Phantasy Star games, and while I am not going to be replaying 7th Dragon once a year like I might Phantasy Star 2 and 4 then it speaks to something that likes those.

If you like Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney games then Gyakuten Kenji 2 is worth a look, and Detective Conan & Kindaichi Case Files is as well.

Jump Ultimate Stars is probably one of the few times fighting games have worked on a handheld.

Most of the time if someone puts in the time to translate something on the DS it is worth the effort if you like the genre as a whole -- I am not big on dating sims but there are a few among those sorted. Main exception being if it is based on an anime/manga and in those cases there can be good stuff but anime/manga games are usually placed somewhere around tie in games for films, which is to say can be awful but fans of the franchise push on through.

There are also a lot of hacks that can improve games dramatically
