This guide is still in progress and is intended for an Beginner-Intermediate group.

The Wii isn't the most powerful console on the market. Nintendo makes up for this with the Wii's control scheme, motion-controls. The fact that the Wii is not a graphical powerhouse doesn't prevent developers from making good games for it. They just have to work with the Wii's constraints. Developers are still able to make games that look good. Just not in <acronym title='more detail in a image'>high-definition.</acronym> Look below for an example of two Wii games with eye pleasing graphics.

<img src="http://pix.gbatemp.net/171835/super%20mario%20galaxy%20honeyhive%20galaxy%20picture.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://pix.gbatemp.net/171835/metroid%20prime%203%20gameplay%20image.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
The Wii's main claim to fame is its motion-controls. The Wii Remote is the nifty little device that allows the Wii to sense your position. It does this through a accelerometer. The Wii Remote has one speaker near the middle of it. The quality of the sound is admittedly sub-par. Volume is good, though.

The Wii Remote also comes with a Nunchuk. The nunchuk consists of an analog stick and two trigger buttons. Similar to the Wii Remote, the nunchuk also has an accelerometer for motion sensing. Motion sensing with the nunchuk is not as common, though usually reserved for minor tasks like throwing a grenade in the game, 'The Conduit'.

Wii games are usually based around motion-controls. Games like Wii Sports Resort and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 take advantage of that. Other like Metroid: Other M and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are/can be played sideways like NES. The Wii has an abundance of games. Most of that consists of shovelware. Below is a list of the top 10 Wii games. Those should be first on your list of games to buy.

<div align="center"><img src="http://pix.gbatemp.net/171835/photo%20channel%20guide%201.PNG" border="0" class="linked-image" /></div>
The Photo Channel is the application that allows you to view photos on the Wii. Photos can be sent to the Photo Channel via an SD Card and email. With the Photo Channel you can turn your photos into a nifty puzzle or mosaic to play around with. The most productive part of the Photo Channel is the ability to play the pictures as a slideshow. The Wii automatically adds a pan and scan effect to the slideshow and will play music on the SD Card. If there is no music on the SD Card, it will play it's own music.

In Fun mode, you can do a 192 piece puzzle by holding down the 1 button.
During a slide show, hold UP or Down on the D-Pad and a blur circle will appear. You can resize the circle by moving the remote closer or further from the screen.

The news channel is an application for the Wii that allows you to view the latest news headlines. Headlines are submitted by the Associated Press, The Canadian Press, Agence France-Presse and Goo (Japanese News Agency). The news channel can be nifty when you want to check the news because of the News ticker. You can easily check the newest headlines straight from the Wii Menu. You should visit the News channel every once in a while since the News ticker disappears if the channel isn't visited for some time.

It's a more noob friendly guide.

You could also tell the new user to delete it's "welcome to the wii world, see what you can do online" video channel, which comes with newer Wii, and consumes most of the Wii memory block.
(sorry I don't remember the real channel name)

What about the Mii channel, Everybody Votes channel, Internet channel, and Nintendo channel?

Also, here's a couple of tips/secrets:
You can move/arrange channel by pointing the cursor at the channel that you want to move by pressing both A+B.

Photo Channel:
Try to grab the cat (press both A+B) and it'll give you tips

In Fun mode, you can do a 192 piece puzzle by holding down the 1 button.
During a slide show, hold UP or Down on the D-Pad and a blur circle will appear. You can resize the circle by moving the remote closer or further from the screen.

Shop Channel: While downloading a game, if Mario is wearing his Fire Flower Suit you can press A to shoot a fireball!

Unlock DS Connectivity in the Mii Channel:
1- Go to Mii Channel (duh)
2- Turn on your DS/DSL/DSi.
3- Press A, B, 1, then hold 2.
NOTE: This feature is used by Personal Trainer: Walking

The guide is still in progress. I'll add those when I get the time.
Thanks! I added you in the Credits. Is it okay that I added the info word by word or should I change it?

A guide would be something that doesn't contain things that are subjective, particularly in the overall summary.

The Wii is severely underpowered in your opinion.
If the Wii lagged constantly during its own games, then yes, it would be underpowered, but for what the Wii aims to achieve, it is not underpowered.

Rewrite your opening, and perhaps say that the Wii is not a graphical powerhouse console, and that it should not be compared to the PS3, or 360.

Constructive criticism. Yay.
I'll rewrite the opening to what you suggested.
