This is the first time i've ever been on this forum

, so here we go...

I think it'll a good idea for BBC iPlayer to have its own official channel on the Wii menu rather than a website to access in the Internet Channel.

I've designed my own version of it when zoomed in on the menu screen.

Heres the pic:

What do you think? Also, how about posting your own designs too?

The BBC is a TV network in the UK. Hers a link to the about page for their iPlayer service [url="http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/about_iplayer"/url]

The Wii Channel in question is what i think they should make for the Wii to be directly accessed from the Wii menu rather than using the internet channel. this is more likely just for UK based Wii users because i guess the BBC iPlayer content is region locked or something, i dunno i haven't left the country

Sorry i'm really bad at explaining stuff

iow - Who else thinks the BBC should make a Wii Channel? Here's what I think the banner should look for the pretend one.

Good point, but i find video quality a bit low when you zoom in (coz you have to so it fits the screen which is annoying) which i think is because of the flash that is used for the internet channel and you have to zoom coz its a "one size fits all" mobile device/home console version of the site, maybe if they do something like the Nintendo Channel , that would be pretty good.

They should have a full screen option in iPlayer like YouTube XL. Although for some reason iPlayer never works on my Wii. Works fine on computer though.

Prefer it on my PS3 its faster and smoother ....using iplayer bigscreen

iPlayer Bigscreen (hence one size fits all version) automaticly loads when normal iplayer is accessed with the Wii, its only smoother because the PS3 has better hardware that can handle flash.

If a Wii channel version of iPlayer could be created it'll be good if the controller buttons would actually work with it, 1 button is play/pause, A button for selecting the program, ect... (yes, its taken straight from the nintendo channel)

oh cool, (should of googled iPlayer Channel first before starting this forum, thread, thingamabob...whatever!), Turns out that there are rumours of Nintendo-approved plans for the BBC to make their own dedicated Wii channel *source*

Man, I would watch the BBC on my Wii. It's better than American news (when they do news) and I could watch some of the shows.

I wonder if it'll work on NTSC Wiis with freethewads and crap like that.
It will look at your IP and kick you off.

I think.

Ya, iPlayer's blocking has nothing to do with the medium. You'd have to port your traffic through a UK based proxy.
