Ya, iPlayer's blocking has nothing to do with the medium. You'd have to port your traffic through a UK based proxy.

Wow, that's a douchey move, Brits. I think they're still jealous about losing at Yorktown.
Yes, because you Americans let us watch Hulu.

Yeah, folks..it happens on both sides of the pond with streaming video sites such as these (that is to say, Hulu and the BBC content). I wish it weren't so, but that would be too good for consumers were it that way.

Just downloaded the new iPlayer Channel. Immediately impressed by the good quality full widescreen video. I've only watched parts of a few things this morning but the bit-rate is fine on my 32" LCD - obviously its not HD but its perfectly watchable for me. Good old BBC.

Technically... If somehow I (I'm living in Greece) could use a UK proxy, could I watch the TV Shows of the BBC Iplayer? I downloaded it already (by selecting Uk in my Wiis country settings) but when I try to watch a show or listen to a station an error message pops up.

I'm in the UK, but I don't want to update my Wii to 4.2, as I'd lose out on Homebrew.

Any chance of a WAD of this or something?

I have 4.1 too, but when I connect to the shop channel it asks me to update.
Find a shop channel updater, I'm on 4.0.

Edit: Just got it. It's better than I expected.

Yeah I'm using 4.2 but I nearly screwed my system up by updating the nintendo way, when the shop channel update came out. Somehow miraculously I got around it, and I couldn't even tell you how I did it. Anyway I think there's a particular IOS that you can update in DopIOS program from homebrew. I think it's something like 56, but if you scan through each of them, DopIOS will tell you what each number is used for. Just update the shop channel, and ignore the rest for now.

What the 'F' are you talking about?! Lose out on what Homebrew?!
I'm running 4.2 with all the Homebrew I can eat... its hacked, end of story.
Install the latest HBC, do an official update, restore Trucha, install cIOS - BINGO...

BBC iPlayer Channel FTW! I'm hooked.

and all those complaining from outside the UK....YES unfortunately we cant watch your great shows when we want from any of your major networks as they are region locked. What do I do? deal with it

........although I wish you all got the news channel as it so LESS full of crap when compared to other so called western English speaking countries news channels.
