Hacking Bannerbomb question

I've been out of the scene for a while and decided to hop back in and play a few recent wii games. My wii right now is on I think 3.3 or 3.4 with HBC installed using the Twilight hack. I'm about to follow "ULTIMATE Tutorial for everything you need for System Menu 4.1" but have a few questions...

1) Since I already have HBC installed, is there anything I should do before hand?
2) Any tips of what I should avoid to prevent bricking my Wii?

2) look at the stickies for stuff

1) Get bootmii, do a boot 2 install if possible and do a NAND backup. Install cIOS.
2) Get bootmii, do a boot 2 install if possible and do a NAND backup. Don't downgrade and don't delete any IOS's.
