Someone is working on it - theres a problem with the USB speed being set to 1.1 for loading

cool, would be great, if i could just put in an sd or an usb stick to play a game.

i have been seeing youtube videos named "backup launcher gamma"
that's fake, right?
i was looking for the gamma but didnt find it.

No thats real - i have it here - it just hasnt been officially released yet - WiiGator and Waninkoko have to cut the ribbon on that one before it goes live

Can I install the cIOS, Channel etc on my modded with a wiiKey Wii? I know I don't need this now, but if USB comes, the I need it

nothing bad, it just won't work because of the chip

people with chips laughed at others who didnt have them and ranted how good they were.now they seem to rendor the wii useless to todays advancements and programs....tut tut how we love Karma $20-$80 down the pan as your going to take it out to softmod and get better results..cost effective my eye.

no....but usb isn't really in the foreseeable future. if it becomes possible, THEN a chip would have no affect.

the chips still rule over the softmods, in compatibility, reliability, speed, (daresay) even installation effort.
some random examples:

chips support these things, launchers do not:
-6x read speed
-gamecube support
-easy-update (no "uninstalling" anything)
-helpful in almost all unbricking situations
-true disc channel loading
-higher compatibility
-RW comapitbility
-+R no booktyping needed
-autobooting possible
-completely stealth (not really that important, but still nice)
-cross-region usually holds no real limitations (especially with GeckoOS)
-better DL support
-list goes on

two ways softmods are still attractive:
-free (aka: 30-60 less than a chip)
-possiblity to support Korean discs 1:1*

*however, these discs can easily be altered and resigned with our usual common-key anyway.

plus I don't know about karma....? usually that applies to "good" and "bad",
not to mention that, I'm a CHIPchap
who makes 20$ every time he personally softmods someone elses wii

hey noobwarrior besides cost effective of soft mod heres a few points....
6x read speed - 3x softmod but cache can run like 6x
-gamecube support - this is being worked on over in another forum and possible
-easy-update (no "uninstalling" anything) - soft mod easy updating no burning required
helpful in almost all unbricking situations - bootmii with gamepad accessable i believe
-true disc channel loading - again foresakhn has cracked this with cSM
-higher compatibility - i'll give you this point
-RW comapitbility - not really issue most dvd -/+ anyway and -r cheaper
-+R no booktyping needed - (sorry dont understand booktype ive no problem)
-autobooting possible - Foresakhn remedied this
-completely stealth (not really that important, but still nice) - can use online
-cross-region usually holds no real limitations (especially with GeckoOS) - no region locking on 0.3
-better DL support - no one would download 9GB and discs are to expensive
so all in all its better to soft mod in my oppinion...oh and the law states you cant mod you console with 3rd party device (i.e chips) to get around copyright on games...as said just my opinion.
