not really worth it imo, too generic
I just played the first intro ch and never played it again
I got the game free though (retail copy, not DL) so meh, I would not waste DVD-DL's on it though, especially not 4 of them...
So, you have the magical ability to be certain that a 70+ hour game is "not really worth it" or "too generic" based on an hour of gameplay? You were able to predict all the character development (even of the six characters you never met!), the caliber of gameplay mechanics (even the 90% of them that you didn't have access to in the first hour of play!), and the overall quality of the narrative exposition (of which you were exposed to almost none!) all within an hour or so of turning the game on?
Before you even popped in the second of four (yes, that's 4 for all you people at home) discs!
I hope that one day I can acquire this awesome power. Until then I'll pay more attention to 'reviews' given by people who have
actually experienced the content they are criticizing.
Here's an example:
It's a long game. The story continues to be "Kaim complains about being immortal." for the entire game. The last boss is the enemy you've known that it was since disc one.
For me, it was too much of a departure from the tried and true generic JRPG formula. I was bored by it. My girlfriend, however, thought that listening to Kaim whine the entire time was emotionally compelling. She thought all the characters were satisfactorily developed, although not to a Final Fantasy extent, much more than you get in most games. All in all, it was worth the $30 i payed for it, used, at GameStop.
