Mentally impossible. But.... Physically POSSIBLE.

Mentally: The WiiKey is designed/ment to only read the type of BURNED disced(i dont know what there called but yea). And ONLY that. Nothing else. It cant read a original Wii game because you hacked the DVD Drive.
Physically: Smash your Wii on a brick, once you get like a open, smash it open, take out the wii drive. Then try to put everything back together. Now, put in the plugs again. Doing it with the screws wont be considered "physically" since you just move your arm..../twist your arm.....

yeah or u could so that just informing ppl if they wanted to play the retail version now

more power to you if it really is working...despite the fact someone here already mentioned that the method has existed for a while. just do us all a favor and don't come crying back to us if/when you perma-brick you're system. some people don't have $250 dollars lying around for a new Wii...let alone sacrificing the time and energy to even find one seeing how Wii's are still relatively hard to come by.

that being said, what's the situation with the wiikey team anyway? i remember a news article saying that they're working on a supposed fix, but haven't really heard anything new about it since then.

The articles were posted by xiaNiax on WiiNewz/PSX-Scene - as that site is down right now we can just hope to hear more. It's basically very disturbing that the WiiKey team has not yet reacted officially and thanks to their page being a lovely Apache test page I guess we can wait for some time to see a real fix - where would it be sent to anyway?

this works if you 100% do it correctly but its a pain in the ass to constantly enable/disable wiikey.

Has anyone tried taking the SSBB wiizard release and putting in their wiikey modded system and then waping with the retail after it's booted? this may work and will save yur laser

this works, that's why I've made a thread asking for someone to dump a dvd5 version of the game. that way, no need for dl dvds, and we can all play with our retail copy

I don't think it's going to work considering: The WiiKey can't read the Original At All.

Can someone 100% confirm/de-confirm this theory?

tried swapping dvd5 for retail. does not work. someone else is going to try dvd9 and retail swap. he said wednesday/thursday we'll know.
