oh dear, nothing like nostalgia, I remember playing on the wooden effect case one back in the late 70's !, space invaders was the only good game :D
this is no snes for graphics and sound effects, not much better than a sinclair zx81 :D

but its part of gaming history

That was my first console.

Going back and playing it decades later, I still enjoy Adventure and Yars Revenge, but that’s it.

Honestly anyone with a GBA/DS/3DS already has a handheld that can play the whole library. Why get this thing?

The joystick is kind of cool, but AV out? Why not just have one of those switch boxes you screw onto the UHF screws then?

the screen is so small... or the controller bigger than I think.
good there's a A/V Out, hdmi adapter is included or sold separately? I hope the cable is long enough.
edit:
yeah, the joystick looks more fun than the handheld !

Swordquest Water world? Wasn't Water and Air unreleased?

Come in Atari, if you're gonna do it, finish the epic quest that was Swordquest!

I'm part of the generation of original gamers that played on Atari consoles in the 70's ...but... meh...
While an important part of gaming history there's very little enjoyment to be had from many of these games.
The handheld itself looks quite nice, and if it turns out it can be hacked to bolster the included games with some more playable offerings it might still be worthy of getting hold of... but, tbh, I prefer to play all 16bit and earlier systems on original hardware.

I just want those sweet coins

Atari games are still surprisingly fun though. The handheld looks too small, though it's hard to really tell for sure. But the device you can plug in to HDMI is pretty cool.

Looks neat, though I've never properly played any Atari game :o
I just never know where to start, since so many "best of" lists seem to be tainted by those rose colored nostalgia glasses. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with those list for that reason! But as someone with NO previous history with the games, those lists are often not tailored for me, but for those looking back and remembering the fun they had at the time.

Would the games actually look better on a bigger display? Forgot all these flat panel displays. I wanna see a portable handhald that actually looks like a old CRT tv. That's where the moneys at.

Can I make the obligatory E.T. joke I make every time Atari makes the front page? Or is everyone tired of that now? Anyways, this looks kinda neat I guess, but hopefully there will be some way (official/legal or not) to add whatever games you want. Including E.T.
