Hardware ASUS Eee PC's some questions

Im thinking of buying a ASUS Eee Sub notebook, just for school. So i have some questions:

1) Will a portable hard drive work? USB Hard Drive to be exact.

2) Is there anyway to increase the RAM? Like add RAM

3) How do i upgrade the RAM(if possible)?

4)Is it reliable?
