The mobile version got a positive review on IGN, a better review than the console versions in fact. Perhaps AC DS will build on that?

You can't port an amazing game like Assassin's Creed to the DS.

That's like porting Halo to the DS.

Jeez talk about being pessimistic. Who knows, I remember hearing Nintendo saying they are going to increase the sizes of the carts so more data can be put in them. Meaning they could add more textures and such. It would be interesting to see, i don't think it's going to fail sale-wise, but who knows if it will be liked. Ya never know, hopefully it will be really good.

Metroid Prime Hunters is probably as good as the DS will get, and it used regular sized cards. (And the graphics on that were very good for the DS)

Anyways, I think it'll be like ALL game ports. 2D side scroller remake.

They could make it a top-down view game, like GTA 2 or Payback GBA

I doubt Assassin's Creed:Altair's Chronicles will fail. Remember, AC is becoming a massive game for 360 and PS3, and the creators won't make a crap game for a handheld ~ If that were to happen, then AC for 360/PS3 would stop selling.

So I'm guessing the creators will put their best efforts into this game - And I'm hoping it'll be in 3D, possibly Cel-Shaded!

It is in 3D, there are screens in another thread or you could just go on IGN DS and look there.

I'm actually kind of interested in it now that I read the article in NP.

The game looks pretty good(as good as 3D can look on the DS I supose), and it's not a port. It's a whole new game that was made for the DS. A prequel. So now it has a less chance of sucking that it's not a direct port.

Splinter Cell on PC/Console was great. Splinter Cell on DS was utterly horrible. I'm treating this as the same.. AC on the DS will be utterly horrible in my opinion, but that's just me.

Ahemm... Splinter Cell was:

1) one of the first DS games
2) A N-Gage port

So I guess they will make a great DS game because the Developer have gotten better developing things for the Handheld since then.

I also read the article in NP. From what they say it seems like theyre putting some actual effort into making it a good, unique game. So as long as the actually try to make an awesome game and not just cash in some $$$ it will be fine.
