To simply read a .txt file or to edit it?

To read a .txt file anyway, Moonshell 2 and DSReader are both quite good.
Moonshell 2 lets you read a txt file whilst listening to music, and DSReader is customisable with font support.

Depending on which version you have - but if it's Moonshell 2.1 Stable when you highlight a TXT file - Press AND HOLD [A] & you should get several options - one of which is 'boot text edit'

Note that it can't edit files greater than 128Kb IIRC

That all sounds correct xD. There is also an option in the moonshl2.ini where you can opt to always use the text editor for the smaller text files rather than the reader.
