The difference between dream and reality is this.
--In reality we experience information taken in by our senses (sight, hearing).
--In a dream we create the information ourselves.

Therefore if you learn something new you must be awake.

Go on wikipedia, if you find yourself learning a lot you are awake.

I guess it comes down to your mental capacity. Do you think you have the ability to create 1000s of wikipedia pages loaded with mundane information in seconds?

I don't think I do. I also don't think I'm capable of designing entire new video games as I play them - or surprising myself with a twist as I read a book.

No, that isn't the reason. My problem is actually something bad that I have to live with every day and it's something that VERY few people actually understand. It's something that I've tried to bury over the years but I can't get rid of and it's slowly been destroying me.

i understand, i have a memory of something i did, or failed to do rather, that will torment me for the rest of my life. glad things are getting better for you.
