Why is it that whenever I do an edit the game crashes? On the selection screen it doesn't even show the edited zennies that I did. It just shows 1500z, the starting money.

depends on what you're editing. If you end up with the wrong type of/no equipment in a slot that previously had equipped gear, that will guarantee a crash on load. The easiest ways to trigger that crash are: no weapon equipped/armor in the weapon slot/nothing in the slot that used to hold equipped armor. Essentially never sort your equipment in the editor... First try just letting the game generate a new GCID for you on the new 3DS (the one the save didnt originate on) by creatig a new save on sot 3/whatever, then add that on the new 2DS's imported character. The next easiest way will be to use the Character Exporter to 'pop out' a character slot then re-add it over a fresh save on the new 3DS. Just remember to 'harvest' the GCID from the new save in that case too, as the first half of the GCID appears to be console-specific (thus is probably what is preventing multiplayer)

It seems that I found where the problem lies. This N3DS of mine was b9s'd through system transfer from my brother's N3ds. Now, even though I try to corrupt the data from his, it will still generate the same GCID, which means I can do no shit about this unless someone gives me a save folder from another N3DS to get another GCID. Are there any available save requests thread here for monster hunter?

Requires:

A way to export your save data (extdata)

Instructions:
1. Use your favorite save manager (SaveDataFiler or JK Save Manager (No CFW Required) or anything that can extract extdata) to extract the system file from the extdata (00001870)
2. Open it and edit it to your liking
3. Use your favorite save manager to import it back into the extdata
Note: Always make a back up!

Q: I can't upgrade my equipment even though I have 99x of them in my item box!
A: Press X in your item box to sort items. If that doesn't work, put required items from your item box into your inventory, then upgrade them. Also make sure you have enough spaces for scrap in your item box.
If you're upgrading Deviant gear make sure you have enough scraps!

Q: I can't make DLC palico items!!!
A: Take the main item (for example sf coin) to a harvest tour, talk to the Transpurrter (The cat next to the barrel that sends items to your box) and send your sf coin, then complete the quest

Q: I can't make prime deviant scrap palico gear (eg. Silverwind S Helmet)!!
A: Use the transpurrtor method to transport the Deviant Hunter I - X tickets.

Q: When I load palico that I have imported, my game crashes!
A: It's crashing because it does not have a weapon equipped. Make an equipment set, and equip it onto the new imported palico. Credits to @JamesyPoo for finding this work around.

Q: I get the message "This palico is active and cannot be selected" when I try to select an imported palcio, how do I fix this?

just wanted to be sure (there have been a ton trying to edit their still-encrypted save straight off the SD before). Make sure you're not trying to export it as 'save data' (use EXT data, as there isn't any 'save data' on the cart). If you're trying to import a MHXX save, the editor does not support it and that's why it wont work.

Other than those possibilities, it could prolly be that the exported file size is too small (like another case I ran into)

As promised: the save. Import using the Character Exporter over another character slot (be sure to copy over character data). Using a GC ID of 0 will not let your GC be sent/viewed, although no name can be fun (you're not announced entering/exiting online/local rooms or for actions like carting/etc. on a quest) but will likely get you kicked for hacking if the host cares.

Also note that while the Arena quests have been completed at S rank, the earring rewards have already been picked up (and were deleted with the rest of the equipment). Just manually add them if you need them after importing the rest of your armor/weapons.

I did hide a tiny 'marker' on the guild card. If you find it please leave it. I'm just curious to see if I bump into anyone using my save

Your guildcard is not registered, right? The only solution I can think of, try copying your cat stats (with the save editor), scout a cat and replace everything, also don't change the comment, just in case.

Hi guys, i am new to this entire thing. my new 3DS XL version is 11.4.0-37U and so far i have seen that i cant install HomeBrew in it. i have my MHGen folder data on my PC is there a way to edit that save?
