I got mine from Nintendo's online store. Arrived at home though, so I can't play it until Christmas </3
Why do you have to wait until christmas? Should it take so long for delivery?

Also, i don't think the shortage is the only problem, is people buying it for no good reason like the guy in the video said, to sell for a unreasonable price. :glare:

People always have and will do this, Playstation 4 20 anniversary edition, any 3DS homebrew enabler game cart. (Someone tell me they remeber what happened here with freaky forms deluxe) Any kind of limited edition purchase of almost every game... Hacked devices or consoles. 30 year old games. Why people do these things is dumb, is a video game, BUY ONE or ONLY WHAT YOU NEED and go home. There should be no reason why is one person need so many unless is gifts for other members of the family/friend branch, or maybe cause you think you will break one so soon or even cause you just have lost your mind.

I can't stand people who buy stuff for dumb reasons like this cause they are probably too silly to get a job or something and try to make quick money, is not much different than gambling. You might as well go to a casino or lottery, or get a real job. You should only need one, if you just got it to play games on it, not stare at a stack of 8 boxes hoping for someone dumb enough to pay more than $60 for it which is the idea in the first place is to be low cost. I hope who ever is selling it for unreasonable prices stare at them for as long as they can stand before stuff like this stops. I wonder why most stores don't have limit to one purchase per customer like some do.:teach:

On paper it looks stronger but in real life i don't know if that is true too
It isn't, it's mostly used for (or supposed it be used for) teaching coding and engineering.

Not back until Christmas, bought as a Christmas present.. there are plenty.

While I have no love for scalpers I do have to say the best casinos in the world are going to be a little under 2:1 for most odds. Various places discuss preorder numbers and the odds of you doing something well here get way better.
Also supply and demand is basic business, so I would put it above getting a real job if said real job is just going to be minimum wage boredom. As for limiting volume I tend to find it is shops and distributors that are not terribly interested in the device, having said same customers buy something else or that are attempting to ensure a certain customer experience, or that are bound by contract to do so.
Equally depending upon return policies it might not be gambling at all and profit you make could be well above what you would have made in interest in the bank on the money in the same time.

Also I was reading some threads on nesdev. They don't seem to be the kindest on this thing, some of it is stuff you would probably notice more if you have good ears and are the kind of person that hangs around on a site like that (I might be able to do something sort of similar for the GBA or DS) but not all.

I suppose comparing that to gambling or casion wasn't accurate enough, but the supply and demand balance is. But basically i just want other people to stop thinking this is good thing and not seeing this as runining a good thing for other people. While i can't say they bought it with positive intentions or negative ones, i am only observing. Maybe they purposely bought so many to show nintendo that the demand for it is real and maybe start producing more until snes, n64 or gamecube gets a version like this nes. I dunno what they were thinking.

I do know from what i seen is that there is tons of sell out stores for the product and is now being sold on auction sites for unreasonable prices that was unintended by nintendo, as if anyone cared that they just do it and get away with it. Is a sick pratice trade and should just be put to the end. But as long as there is nothing stopping this, it will continue to happen, and nothing people like me can do or say to stop it. I may not seem like I want one or care for the product, and i really don't to be honest but i do care about things being fair and reasonable from a patreon perspective, i just know i don't want stuff like this happen to me if i want a new console or game or whatever and because i didn't get one in time that i have to either wait for resupply which i wouldn't know when or deal with strangers who want to sell me overpriced product over %500 what the MSRP is originally set to be.:glare:

Nah, it's been delivered home, and I'm at uni atm. It'd be a waste to ask the family to post it to me, so I'm just waiting until I'm next home (Christmas).

Well just incase anyone wanted to see a "ACTUAL" Unboxing, this guy has it, as he opens the system up to show off the circut board componets of the stuff. :creep:

It would be funny if the actual system is just a raspberry pi or some cellphone system, reprogrammed to look like a nes VC machiene with fancy gui HUD and all that, rather than actually making their own parts. :P

Oh, i guess i misunderstood, i assume you live at home, how silly of me.

I don't think anybody believes they are brave and selfless souls like those that might import things or whatever. In the end it is just a fact of life and usually treated as such, no sense getting any kind of upset about it.

The right of resale is held as a fairly fundamental in most places people would care to live in. The main ways around it are licensing the item instead (you don't own it, to the point where you can not say I own it therefore I can hack it), some kind of contract (a lot of houses come with this, and technically some warranties say only first purchaser can claim it) or otherwise actually doing something that would trouble second hand game sales (something like what people wanting to sell a gun have to do in certain states). I would infinitely rather have the occasional scalper than any of those come to pass though.
Equally one per customer does not matter if you get 8 of your mates to hit up every place selling them or you get someone on the inside (not like getting a cashier job is hard, and it is not like a store manager earns enough to ignore a decent backhander).

methinks someone with good programming skill should code a menu like this for the Wii/Wii U/3DS/Vita.

being a lowly coder of visual basic, my skills are lacking in C++. It would be really cool to at least experience it via homebrew.

I'd buy one if I happen to catch it in the wild, but I'm not stalking it out. I am still however stalking amiibo :( missing about 25 or so

Oh snap, perhaps make retroarch menus like the nes classics, maybe a good idea, if its easier to use. :)

Although the only problem with retroarch for me at least is the menus for doing anything, once you manage to get a game loaded it practically just as normal as playing a game. I don't even know how to load a rom hack, since i put search directory and it never finds all games. Anyway is not about retro arch.

I was hoping they would least put a few easter eggs on there like Luigi bros from super mario 3d world or Super luigi from Nes remix, or even some nex remix style modes, maybe doctor luigi or whatever, anything to make it even more worth grabbing attention for than just the low price 30 games.

So can anyone confirm if using the other controllers like the Classic controller pro, or the gamecube to wii mote adaptor or even nunchucku (Dumb idea but still) works as well?:P

I do really like the menu for the NES Classic.

I wonder how modders will be able to load more games onto this device or better yet they can backup all the info from the chip and put the menu onto a raspberry pi. That would be cool while still maintaining the original parts.
