so, there are NOAC handhelds with 999 NES games,
and now the K-1 team has made a custom GBA SP
why cant they make a Custom 3DS?

heres what im thinking: remove all the unnecessary things
like Gyroscope, Cameras, Microphone, code scanner,
even replace 3D screen with a normal cheaper screen.

and make a hong kong bootleg 3DS for $70.

So basically you want a DS then?
That plays 3DS games.

I don't think we're anywhere close to it.
GBA SP came in 2002 iirc.
It's 2012 now, so that's aleast 10 years before a "bootleg" one came.

3DS isn't even close to getting hacked. And now you ask for this?
No emu, no anything yet.

999 was NOT a NES game. (jk, I know you weren't talking about 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors)

But, unless you want a Custom 3DS that only plays DS games you're out of luck. There's not nearly enough knowledge around to boot 3DS games on a Custom system yet, and there probably won't be for a long time. DSi games are kind of understood, but there was never a *full* DSi hack (there were only a handful of exploits and nothing ever really came of them) and there was never a DSi emulator, so the "Custom 3DS" bootleg (if it were made now) would very likely just be for DS games. (and at that point, calling it a Custom 3DS would be a false statement)

90% of 3DS games use at least one of those features, so a Bootleg 3DS would be pointless as you won't be able to play most of the games. You're basically just suggesting a DS Lite Bootleg.
