Hey everyone, finally got my laptop, and am going to install some antivirus/antispyware software on it. I've been partial to AVG software for a long time, and was thinking of purchasing the retail version (Internet Security which I believe is the antivirus/antispyware in one, correct me if I'm wrong). I was wondering if anyone else had any reccomendations for what I should get? I'm avoiding anything with the name "Macafee" and "Symantic" attached to it. Anyone have any luck with free software (besides AVG free)? Let me know what you think!

Ha... forgot to mention.. Windows Vista Ultimate (32bit).

For antivirus, a good free alternative is avast! antivirus. Kapersky antivirus if you want a retail solution.

For antispyware, try out spybot or AVG Antispyware

Spywareblaster

Johnatton - There is a free Nod32 beta up for download on their website at the moment.

yeah i know but i fear its getting bloated for every release the original nod32 was popular for the PC gaming crowd and its superb protection (i think they are no.1 since 2000 in virus bulletin)
