First off I would like to say this forum is very knowledgeable and I have learned a lot in the past few days of reading. Let me start by explaining the situation. A friend gave me his WiiU that he had previously softmodded (Method Unknown). I can still get into the vWII but HBC is missing. I have tried the hackmii 1.2v installer but it hangs on the scam screen. After digging I was able to get Wii Homebrew Launcher to work using the batman exploit. From there I used Multi Mod Manager to check IOS's and noticed he does not have IOS236 installed but 249-250 as well as some older cIOS versions like hermies (Which hard locks the vwii when trying to load). I have NAND access using IOS250 and removed the hermies which causes the hard locks in syscheck. When I run syscheck it scans all of the IOS's and then finishes but hard locks when trying to mount SD so I cannot get a saved report. When I try the IOS236 installer it just fails and I also tried the d2x beta 52/alt and it locks up when loaded as well.

At this point I am stumped what the next step would be. would it be possible to flash HBC using a WAD instead of the installer as well as the other IOS's that will not install?

Could you please post your syscheck?

you can try to take a screenshot using your cellphone or a camera on the tv, sometimes syscheck does not save the cvs, wthats a common error on some version of syscheck.

I am using SysCheck HacksDen Edition v2.3.2

Here is a picture were it locks up after generating the report

Ok.. first of all, Hermes IOS CANT be installed on the VWii, since they are not supported, Now, since i assume you don't have a clean Non fakesigned backup of your IOS thats one problem.
Now. if you read Here those are the official ones.

If you STILL have access to Homebrew channel, and can execute homebrew, try to delete Hermes IOS, and Re-DO the VWii Softmod Following This Link .

I have deleted the IOS's for hermies already due to having IOS 249/250 able to have NAND access. I have tried to resoftmod using that tutorial but the hackmii installer hard locks on the scam screen.

Alright:
1.- What size is the SD you are using?
2.- you can try to boot the d2x mod installer using the homebrew launcher.elf and start from here.
3.- try to use the bootmini.elf on hackmii installer
4.- Sometimes SD are not fully compatible to launch HackMii, also MOST SDHC are not compatible.

Alright:
1.- What size is the SD you are using? I have two 2GB standard NON HC SD cards as well as a 8GB SDHC card. All do the same result in hard locking during hackmii install
2.- you can try to boot the d2x mod installer using the homebrew launcher.elf and start from here. Yes I have tried this but using both 249/250 IOS's it hard locks before the next screen. Using IOS36 the installer fails
3.- try to use the bootmini.elf on hackmii installer I have not but I am trying that as we speak.
4.- Sometimes SD are not fully compatible to launch HackMii, also MOST SDHC are not compatible.

Ill be quoting here

"you can try using YAWMM-DE (english translation) http://www.hacksden.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=793&d=1369548542 to install IOS36-64-v3864.wad (yes, the one from Sendspace, I have tested that wad personally and it works, and the link is still valid ;)) [For this, just google "sendspace kl6o78"]

if that fails, try this,

try using this to install a patched IOS36 as ios236 by putting IOS36-64-v3864.wad in the root of the SD card. as in directly on the SD card, not in a folder.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/d8v42uid72yo9kc/IOS236_Installer_MOD_v7_for_vWii_dmm.zip
once you get ios236 installed, use a wad manager (that can choose what ios to use) to install the ios36 wad. have the wad manager use ios236 for the install. the reason is that the ios236 is ios36 with patches to get around error -1017 thus allowing you to install ios36.

DO NOT TRY INSTALLING ANY IOS USING DOP-MII. the reason i mention this is that installing IOS236 will allow dop-mii to work if you select ios236 bypassing error -1017, which means that any IOS install will work rather than fail.

it is safe to use DOP-MII to install the Internet Channel and the Photo Channel tho."

@ScarletDreamz and @cjizzle I will try these suggestions and report back to you. Also cjizzle I will try two OLDER SD cards I found from around 10 years ago. Those should be the most compatible right? 1st gen NON HC 128MB? The other one I found is a older sandisk 1GB NON HC

Ok I tried the two older SD cards I had mentioned in my previous posts using @ScarletDreamz GuiFormat and I get the same result (Hard lock on WiiModLite/MMM when accessing the SD). There has to be a way to patch IOS36.
