Hidden information about the current firmware installed on PSVita can be revealed by following the following steps:

1- Go to Settings > System > System Information
    2- Press simultaneously R Trigger + L Trigger + DPad Left + Square for a few seconds
3- Release those buttons then immediately press the Start button

This menu contains information about system build, repository, revision

It has been reported that the exact combination of keys works on PS3 as well, also accessing a similar hidden menu, and also on PSP if you keep holding Start after the first buttons combination (credit to Foxi4).

Hm, that's kinda' neat. Wonder what use it could have for troubleshooting.

Works on PSP aswell, with one difference - you need to hold down the START button, otherwise the extra info will disappear.

this could be nice if you bought a vita used, or if someone released a CFW for the vita.
I don't see a use for it at this time...

I'm curious about the looks of the PS3 screen. *not turning off the pc to check just that, tho. Damn use of same screen.*

I always prefered CRT displays over LCD - it's really a matter of preference... but yes, it's damn classy. :P

Has anyone gotten this to work on 1.61?
// Nevermind, went to the youtube page. This method has been patched out now.
