Gaming American Idol Encore 2 Mic not working

I can't get the mic to be reconized for American Idol Encore 2. I installed IOS56 + Wii Speak Channel and the game keeps telling me to plug in a mic. Any idea what I am missing?

I tried 2 brand new mics so I don't think that can be the problem.

it works fine with mine, and im using the ntsc on usbloader gx on a pal wii.

im on re 13a, im sure you need 12 or 13 to use microphones.

have you tried them in each socket? what mikes are they? bear in mind i was able to use my playstation mike from 'x factor' but my mikes from 'singstar' are different and dont work. the 'x factor' mike works on mine with boogie superstar, american idol, rock band and sing it.
