Hacking Alternative firmwares for M3

I have sad news about the WoodR4 for M3 project. YWG finally answered me:

due many cases of license violation we decided to suspend wood source releasing

He said he would share the source code with me but I'm not allowed to give it to anybody. And I even can not release the binary files. That means YWG won't open the source but even if I decide to share with me the source I can not release the update files.

That is mean this is the end of the WoodR4 for M3 project. Don't ask for the updates because even if I got it I'm not allowed to give out!

He said ''suspend'' not permanently close/cancel/shut down. so in a long time future it may comeback. just trying to be optimistic...
This is sad news for the M3 guys. it doesn't affect me since I have an R4/M3simply..

I have only one thing to say about this:

I HATE THOSE GODDAMN CLONE TEAMS! they are to blame for stealing all of this. -.-
Anyone remember when the akAIO 1.5 for clones thing happened? *sighs*

I don't quite get what he told you. he will give you the source code to work on, but you can NOT release anything containing it?
That makes a little to no sense at all.

Also, IIRC you're not giving out the source code nor sharing it. you have been releasing but compiled versions of it right?
I suppose that you had to give out your source code to YWG right?

It's sad news but at least there's still the YSmenu, it's great that you continue to help even though you don't have an M3 anymore.

It's the GCP. you could have the source code completely for free and start compiling your version of whatever. but if you were to release the binaries (compiled files) (i.e. WoodDSTT, WoodR4pro the unofficial copied/stolen wood clones) you also had to release the modified SOURCE code. if not you would have been violating the terms of use.

Due to many of this violations/copies and none of them actually releasing their modified source YWG Decided to close the project altogether. it is unknown if he will open the source page again.

huh. i reread my pm and seen that it is not so clean

(yes — languages is my weakest point) of course you can release binaries.

That is mean I can release updated WoodR4 for M3 but I can not give out the source. I think it is good for the people around here.

I still not got the source but if I will got it, I will start working on it and release an update. Just stay tuned. I think this news are good enough.

First of all thank you so much for all your hardwork that enables us to M3 users to stay up to date

It is awesome!

I would like to note that DScovery 6.53b hangs on LOADING using M3i Zero

The regular 6.53 works but autoboots on Sakura.

DScovery looks awesome, I really like it.

Just drop usrcheat.dat into the TTMenu folder and you can use them in the menu.

Sorry for not include them but I'm not used to because everyone can get his own database from there.

It should work as it uses the reset_mse package.
