Modmii can get you ALL NEEDED FILES PLUS A TAILORED INTALL GUIDE TO FOLLOW!
It will probably take you 10minutes to get your Wii fully modded and running like butter.

THERE ARE NO SECRETS TO THIS.

For Gamecube:

Install mios v8 (Google it).

Put Gamecube Back-Up Launcher 0.2 and Neogamma R7 rev20 on SD card.

Now, put you GCN back-up in the disc slot. Load Neogamma. When it comes up, press "Launch Game on DVD" You will be forwarded to GCBLv0.2, where you can select your game (if you are using a multidisk) and press A (or B if you already have a save file) to load it.
P.S. You will need a GCN controller plugged in to work the back-up launcher.

what about neogamma R9, cMIOS v10?

I had mios 10 and my backups didn't work, so I put it back down to 8. Anyways, 8 works great for me. Never has it given me any problems at all. So, that is why I recommend it to this guy. As for Neogamma, so long as it forwards to GCBL, it doesn't really matter what version it is, but I know the newer ones launch GCN b ackups by themselves. So, again, I am recommending what I use and am comfortable with.

With this setup, games like Zelda windwaker will have problems.
Use the lates wiipower. wiigator cMIOS.
And NEOGAMMA r9 beta latest rev.
Also install d2x v6 in slot 249, to be able to get dvd acces.

Formatting is almost never a good idea. Please name one situation where it is? It deletes all your savesgames, gets you new IDs(disowns you from your legal VC/WiiWare stuff) and keeps the system menu and the IOS.

When your WC24 registration info has been messed up by running different NAND images, formatting is the only way to force a new registration. Otherwise you can't send/receive messages or confirm newly added friends. It also never "disowns your legal VC/WiiWare", as long as you don't revoke your shop account you can always redownload previously purchased titles.

Hmm, i thought you get a new ID and you can't connect your Wii to your shop account anymore. And if that's the only reason for a format, a tool that fixes the problem might be a good idea, just saying.

When formatting you are prompted with the option to either keep all of your Wii Shop data tied to the system or to delete that also. That actually surprises me that with all the work you've done these past few years you haven't seen/run a system format. I guess it's one of those mystical "never do this" things like updating to 4.3 seems to be.

Actually, Wind Waker works great. I've played through it twice on these settings.

you can use modmii to overwrite any pre-existing mods if you like. just tell modmii that your wii has not been previously modified.

Personally, I choose OTHER for current System Menu, so it downloads and updates and much as possible, and I always go latest System Menu (4.3).

As long as my Wii boots up properly, I wouldn't do a format.

Restoring hand from backup resets all IOSes from backup and can be done on an IOS of bootmii, right?

And about my last question, can I restore from nand? It would really help me out. Would it delete anything besides restoring my IOSes?
